Polytechnic University and RAU are adapting the "Fundamentals of Project Activities" course for Armenian students.

Representatives from the Russian-Armenian University visited the Polytechnic University to discuss joint work on localizing the course "Fundamentals of Project Activities."

This academic year, with the support of SPbPU, the course is launching at RAU for the third time. In the 2023/24 and 2024/25 academic years, student project activities were implemented primarily according to the Polytechnic University model. However, following last year's results, RAU administration, faculty, and students expressed a desire for localization. With the methodological and instrumental support of SPbPU, changes will be made to both the theoretical and practical courses, as well as the mentoring model. According to representatives of RAU and SPbPU, the request for such changes is a positive signal for the full integration of the course into the core educational process, as well as a catalyst for further student engagement and the development of an attractive and understandable mentor model at the Russian-Armenian University.

Colleagues from RAU and SPbPU also discussed Polytechnic University's experience in developing a university technology entrepreneurship ecosystem, including through the "Boiling Point – Polytechnic" program, as well as the specifics of interaction with industrial partners and entrepreneurship support institutions. They agreed to jointly develop a program for developing technology entrepreneurship at RAU, building on the results of the course's implementation and the existing "Boiling Point – RAU – SPbPU" program.

They also discussed cooperation in developing RAU youth communities with the support of the SPbPU Youth Policy Department. The next planned event is a visit in November by representatives of Polytechnic University youth communities to RAU to discuss the Cooperation Roadmap for 2026.

The Tauride Palace hosted the first international scientific and educational congress, "The Intellectual Code of the Commonwealth." And Russian science is not just one element in this context, but the foundation and driver of the implementation of the strategy of engineering and technological sovereignty. Charity Marathon for the 120th Anniversary of the Polytechnic Hydrotower: Fundraising Results Announced

The results of the charity marathon, held at the initiative of the Polytechnic University Endowment Fund and dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the legendary Hydrotower, have been announced.

NSU Open Day: On the Path to University Life

Novosibirsk State University held its traditional Open Day on November 2, attracting a record-breaking number of participants for the fall event—over 2,000 schoolchildren and their parents. Lectures, quizzes, and workshops: how Moscow's schoolchildren and students are being taught to respect nature

Three years ago, regional waste management operator JSC Ecotechprom developed a proprietary environmental literacy program for schoolchildren and students. Classes are held in Moscow schools, colleges, universities, and cultural and family centers by appointment.

Eco-lessons are aimed at developing healthy environmental habits in young Muscovites and fostering a conscious and caring attitude toward the environment. The Moscow City Services Complex explained what specialists teach and how to participate in the program.

Lessons in schools

Environmental literacy classes are free. The format can be customized to suit the children's preferences, including themed lectures, quizzes, and workshops.

During the lectures, specialists discuss Moscow's waste separation program and explain how sorting helps conserve natural resources, reduce waste, and make the world around us cleaner and more beautiful.

The waste separation program began in Moscow almost six years ago, on January 1, 2020. Each site in the city's courtyards is equipped with two-color containers: blue ones for recyclables, and gray ones for mixed waste. The number of program participants and the amount of waste collected are growing every year. In 2024 alone, more than 1.65 million tons were sorted and sent for recycling, compared to only 450,000 tons before the program's launch in 2019.

The "Separate and Act" environmental quiz is particularly popular among schoolchildren. It's a fun and engaging team game for high school students about waste separation and responsible consumption. During the quiz, participants discuss the principles of waste sorting, study product labels, and learn interesting facts about an eco-friendly lifestyle. New bus routes will open in the Moscow region starting November 8.

Starting November 8, Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk will be connected to Moscow by the capital's first commuter routes. Buses #1101 to Barvikha and #1290 to Moscow City Oncology Hospital #62 will begin running along Rublevo-Uspenskoe Highway from the Krylatskoye metro station. Seven modern buses, equipped to high Moscow standards, will operate on this route.

Quito, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) — Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa declared a new 60-day state of emergency in five coastal provinces and three municipalities in the central provinces of Cotopaxi and Bolivar to deal with "serious internal unrest" caused by extremist violence by organized crime.

A decree signed on Tuesday and taking effect on Wednesday allows security forces to enter homes and conduct searches without a warrant and suspends the right to privacy of communications and correspondence in the coastal provinces of Manabí, Guayas, Santa Elena, Los Ríos, and El Oro. The capacity of the Businovskaya interchange has increased almost 1.5 times thanks to re-marking

This year, a third lane was added to the Businovskaya interchange—the exit from the inner side of the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) to the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) and the M-11 Neva highway—by re-marking it. Now, approximately 20,000 motorists per day can comfortably travel this section. The work was carried out according to plan. Traffic Management Center (TsODD).

"In accordance with Sergei Sobyanin's instructions, we continue to make travel within the city faster and more comfortable. Under the TsODD project, we added a lane on the exit ramp from the inner side of the Moscow Ring Road to the expressways—the Moscow Ring Road and the M-11 Neva. As a result, the section's capacity has increased by 42 percent," said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

Previously, this section experienced bottlenecks during heavy traffic hours: cars lining up to exit blocked the straight-through lane. To turn toward the Moscow Ring Road and the M-11 Neva, drivers could only turn right from the first lane, and from the second lane, either straight onto the Moscow Ring Road or right onto the highways.

Thanks to the project, the TsODD has been able to relieve congestion in the area and improve traffic by adding an additional lane through re-marking. Drivers can now access the Moscow Highway and the M-11 "Neva" from three lanes: two lanes allow only right turns onto the highway, while the third allows right turns and straight-through traffic. As a result, the exit's capacity has increased almost 1.5 times.

This year, the Moscow Traffic Management Center (TsODD) has prepared 100 re-marking projects to improve traffic in the capital, 90 of which have already been implemented. These projects include adding new lanes and U-turns, including on key busy thoroughfares, such as the Garden Ring, the Third Ring Road, and the Moscow Ring Road. This makes travel within the city even more comfortable and creates alternative routes without extensive work, unnecessary costs, or lengthy road closures.

Traffic improvement projects have been underway in the capital since 2018. By narrowing existing lanes, additional lanes are created for straight-ahead travel or for new turns and U-turns in areas where widening the roadway through construction is difficult. Furthermore, re-marking is much faster than widening a road using traditional methods. This is especially important in dense traffic conditions, both in confined urban spaces and on high-traffic highways.
