WELLINGTON, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) — A bushfire in New Zealand's Tongariro National Park continued to rage on Monday, with the fire likely to have expanded from the 2,500 hectares initially reported, Fire and Emergency New Zealand said.

On Monday morning, fog covered the park, which helped limit the fire's spread overnight. However, the fog forced all planes to land.

Tongariro National Park, established in 1887, is New Zealand's first national park. It covers approximately 80,000 hectares. The park is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its cultural significance to the Māori people and its outstanding natural features.

The New Zealand Fire and Emergency Service was notified of the bushfire on Saturday afternoon. There have been no reports of injuries or damage to structures. However, evacuations were underway to evacuate tourists from the national park and people in nearby areas.

JIUQUAN, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) — A mission to launch a Chinese satellite using a commercial CERES-1 launch vehicle ended in failure on Monday at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China.

The rocket was supposed to deliver the JXGF-04C satellite into orbit along with two other satellites.

The launch vehicle, which lifted off at 12:02 p.m. Beijing time, encountered an anomaly during its flight, preventing the satellites from being delivered to their intended orbits.

The specific reasons for the mission failure are being analyzed and investigated. -0-

Beijing, November 10 (Xinhua) — The Chinese hovercraft Longfei-2 departed from the Tongjiang River Port of Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Monday for the Russian port of Nizhneleninskoye, marking the official opening of the international hovercraft shipping route at this Chinese river checkpoint for the autumn-winter period of 2025, the Zhongguo Xinwenwang news portal reported.

Following the onset of ice drift on the Heilongjiang/Amur River, traditional waterborne transportation methods became limited, and hovercraft, thanks to their unique advantages of hydrostatic force and speed, became a new option for waterborne transportation. The minimum required travel time from the eastern operational area of the Tongjiang River Port to the port of Nizhneleninskoye is 5 minutes.

According to the Tongjiang Port border control office, the first flight currently departs daily at 8:00 a.m. Beijing time. To facilitate this service, two hovercraft have been commissioned, operating back-to-back round-trip routes.

Tongjiang is the only checkpoint in Heilongjiang Province that handles transportation by water, road, and rail. -0-

SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) — South Korea's special prosecutor's team on Monday indicted former President Yun Seok-yul on charges of aiding the enemy.

Special Prosecutor Cho Eun-seok's spokesman said at a briefing that a team of independent lawyers had accused Yun Seok-yeol of aiding the enemy and abuse of power.

The former defense minister and the former head of counterintelligence were also charged with the same crimes.

The representative noted that Yun Seok-yul undermined the military interests of the Republic of Korea by increasing the risk of inter-Korean armed conflict in order to create conditions for the introduction of martial law.

The ousted leader was detained in the presidential administration on January 15 and on January 26 he was charged with organizing a rebellion.

Yun Seok-yeol was released on March 8 after prosecutors decided not to appeal the court's release decision, but he was taken back into custody on July 10.

On April 4, the Constitutional Court upheld the impeachment petition against Yun Seok-yul over his failed attempt to impose martial law last December, formally removing him from office.
