BEIJING, November 24 (Xinhua) — On November 22, at 8:05 a.m., flight CZ8007, carrying 34 passengers, departed Tianshan International Airport in Urumqi, the capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, bound for Osh, the second-largest city in Kyrgyzstan, marking the official opening of the regular Urumqi-Osh international passenger air route, according to a report on the China Media Group news app.

Currently, this is the only direct air route from China to Osh, and the second international passenger air route to Kyrgyzstan launched by Tianshan Airport after the route to Bishkek.

It is reported that round-trip flights are planned on the Urumqi-Osh route every Saturday, with the flight duration being approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Guiyang, November 24 (Xinhua) — Guizhou, a mountainous province in southwest China, plans to launch its first scheduled low-altitude logistics route using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by the end of 2025. The decision was made following the successful completion of a city-to-city test flight of a domestically developed electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle.

On November 20, a two-ton eVTOL delivered medical supplies and agricultural produce from a low-altitude flight support base in Guiyang to a general aviation airport in Huangping County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, covering 118 km in just 40 minutes. By comparison, traditional ground transportation between these two locations takes over two hours due to the karst terrain.

The test flight allowed us to verify the stability and effectiveness of the aircraft in challenging mountainous terrain, noted Ho Kui, project director of the low-altitude economy development company, which is wholly owned by Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group.

According to him, the province plans to launch the first route this year and subsequently expand its scope of application to include passenger transportation for tourism and commuter services.

The V2000CG CarryAll, which completed its test flight, was developed by Shanghai-based AutoFlight. It is the world's only eVTOL with a maximum takeoff weight exceeding 1 ton. The aircraft has received all three required Chinese aviation certifications: type certificate, production certificate, and airworthiness certificate. Its payload reaches 400 kg, maximum cruising speed is 200 km/h, and range is 200 km. Power is provided by batteries from CATL, a strategic investor in AutoFlight.

Li Yun, Chief Commercial Officer of AutoFlight Kunshan, the final assembly base for the eVTOL, said the company is committed to promoting the development of low-altitude economies in Guizhou Province, benefiting rural development and modern logistics.

URUMQI, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) — The annual foreign trade cargo turnover through the airport in Urumqi, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, exceeded 100,000 tons for the first time.

As of November 19 this year, cargo turnover reached 101,400 tons, a 257.14 percent increase compared to the same period last year, and the number of foreign trade cargo flights increased by 243.67 percent to 4,966, according to the customs service of Tianshan Airport in Urumqi.

Following the first six months of the third season of the "Far East – Land of Adventure" competition, 506 films were submitted for jury evaluation. This was announced by the project's initiator, Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev.

"We want as many people as possible to discover the beauty of the Far East, to come to Sakhalin, Yakutia, the Magadan Region, and other Far Eastern regions, to walk existing trails or create their own tourist routes, and to share their experiences. Fourteen films were made about each of the Magadan and Murmansk Regions, 11 videos about the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic, and seven videos about the Arkhangelsk Region. Twelve films from the competition have been selected for the special "Paths of Victory" category. This category includes films about journeys to sites of military glory in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District and the Arctic zone of Russia. To submit an application for the "Paths of Victory" category, simply submit a film in one of the four main categories—hiking, water, winter, or Arctic travel—and the competition jury will then select your film for the special category.

Additionally, the competition offers a special prize of 1 million rubles for the best trip to Chukotka. This special category has been announced again this year by the regional leadership.

As per tradition, the next season of the All-Russian Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence was announced during the closing ceremony. In 2026, young programmers and analysts will explore a new applied topic, "Space," chosen through an interactive vote.
