KABUL, November 25 (Xinhua) — Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Health on Monday launched the 4th subnational polio vaccination campaign for children in 2025.

According to the agency's statement, the campaign will take place in 17 of the country's 34 provinces and last four days. Approximately 7.4 million children will receive the oral polio vaccine.

“It is crucial that all influential people in the communities, including religious leaders, elders, and parents, support polio vaccination teams across the country,” said Health Minister Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali.

BERLIN, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) — Germany's first major winter storm of the season killed at least four people and injured many others on Monday as snow and icy roads caused widespread accidents and traffic disruptions.

In the southern state of Bavaria, three people were killed in a collision between two trucks and a car, where police reported extremely slippery roads. Two people were seriously injured, and several others suffered moderate injuries.

The fourth fatality occurred in the southern state of Baden-Württemberg, where a 68-year-old man died after losing control of his vehicle on an icy road and crashing into another vehicle. The second driver sustained serious injuries.

In the central part of the state of Hesse, icy roads and overnight snowfall caused dozens of accidents, injuring nine people. According to police, more than 30 weather-related accidents occurred between Sunday evening and Monday morning.

Chengdu, November 25 (Xinhua) — "Pandas, as a living bridge, open the door to closer cooperation between Russia and China in the fields of ecology, education, culture, and business, creating a solid foundation for a long-term strategic partnership," said Svetlana Akulova, Director General of the Moscow Zoo, on the sidelines of the recent Global Panda Partners 2025 conference in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province.

In April 2019, to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, the China Protection and Research Center for Giant Pandas in Sichuan Province donated giant pandas named Ruyi and Dingding to the Moscow Zoo. They immediately became favorites of local visitors. In August 2023, the bears gave birth to a cub named Katyusha. She became the first giant panda cub born in Russia.

Speaking at the conference's panel "Expanding Pandas' Influence: Scientific Education and Cultural Interaction," S.
