Specialists from the Ufa corporate scientific institute have developed a design for a gear reducer installed at the Bashneft-UNPZ treatment facilities (part of Rosneft). The part was manufactured according to the scientific institute's drawings and implemented in the production process.

The research institute has been working on import substitution of parts at Ufa oil refineries since 2024. The institute plans to develop 3D printing from polymers and composites. Potentially, this method can produce more than 5,000 spare parts for Rosneft enterprises. Currently, pilot tests of impellers of electric motors for booster and oil pumps made of plastic are being conducted at the largest production asset of the Company, RN-Yuganskneftegaz. Based on the test results, serial production of parts is planned.

Rosneft is actively implementing an import substitution program, including in the area of providing oil refineries with spare parts. The innovative approach of 3D scanning allows creating a high-precision digital 3D model, on the basis of which Russian enterprises manufacture spare parts that are not inferior to foreign parts in terms of quality characteristics.

With the support of Rosneft, ornithologists are preserving the white-tailed eagle population in the Samara region

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Specialists from the Samara group of Rosneft enterprises and ornithologists from the Samarskaya Luka National Park summed up the results of the field stage of a joint project to study and preserve the endangered white-tailed eagle on the territory of the reserve.

The key result was the data indicating an increase in the population of the red-listed bird in the Samarskaya Luka National Park by more than a third. Field studies of the autumn-winter period of 2024-2025 confirmed the positive dynamics. Scientists discovered new nests of eagles in the park, which indicates an expansion of the nesting range. Thanks to monitoring in previously identified areas, the constant presence of birds, active renewal of nests and mating behavior were recorded. To protect key habitats of birds in these areas, a special regime was introduced and patrols were increased.

The main criterion for assessing the dynamics was the data on breeding observations: in 2024, all pairs successfully hatched chicks. The current activity of birds and 100% nesting success last year allow scientists to predict population growth in the reserve.

Educational work is an integral part of the strategy for the conservation of rare animals. As part of the project, information stands have been installed on the reserve's walking routes, introducing visitors to the key characteristics of the white-tailed eagle population: it is the largest bird of prey in the Samara Region, included in the Red Books of the region, Russia, and the International Red Book.

Photo and video recording of birds in their natural habitat is another important area of the conservation project. The collected materials will be used to create a scientific archive, educational programs and further conservation initiatives. In addition, it is planned to organize a photo exhibition "Orlan".

Caring for the environment is an integral part of the corporate culture and principles of Rosneft. The Company pays great attention to ornithological projects. Thanks to the support of the Company's subsidiaries in different regions of the country, research is conducted and programs for the care of rare bird species are implemented: Steller's sea eagles, wild geese, ivory gulls, etc.

The enterprises of the Samara Rosneft Group have had long-standing cooperation with the Samarskaya Luka National Park. A grant project to study and protect the white-tailed eagle has been implemented for the second year. Another grant project has developed and launched the Ecotrail 63 mobile application for virtual travel around the national park. Earlier, thanks to the support of oil workers, the LukAmorye environmental education complex was opened in the city of Zhigulevsk, a visitor center in the village of Sosnovy Solonets, and an aviary was built for birds that have lost the ability to live in the wild.

Rosneft scientists find rare traces of ancient fauna in core

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Specialists from the Rosneft Research Institute in Tomsk have discovered well-preserved traces of marine fauna from the Jurassic period in rock: ray-finned fish, parts of a sea lily, and the skeleton of a brittle star, a distant relative of the starfish.

Such finds in cores (rock samples studied to search for, estimate reserves and extract oil) are more often found in the form of small fragments or individual flakes. The discovery of large remains – parts of the skeleton and skin – is a unique event.

Thus, while studying rock samples extracted from an exploratory well in the Surgut region of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Tomsk geologists found imprints of a ray-finned fish with clear outlines of three fins.

According to Rosneft specialists and paleontologists from Tomsk State University who studied the fossil, the find belongs to the extinct family Peipiaosteidae, early representatives of the order Acipenseridae, and the shelf deposits surrounding the fish date back to the late Oxfordian (Late Jurassic period), covering a time period from 158 to 154.8 million years ago.

Such traces of ancient organic matter allow scientists to more accurately identify disparate fragments of flora and fauna, establish their connections with the environment, and determine conditions favorable for the formation and accumulation of oil.

Reference:

The Tomsk scientific institute of Rosneft has collected more than 160 kilometers of physical rock samples, selected for research from several thousand wells of Russian oil and gas fields. A detailed study of the conditions of formation of oil deposits is provided by its own scientific and analytical center, using more than 600 units of classical and newest equipment, including unique micro- and mesotomographs, designed to create high-precision "digital twins" of the core structure.

Rosneft Research Institutes Recognized as Leaders in Information Modeling

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The Samara and Krasnodar scientific institutes of the Company became winners of the competition, which was held within the framework of the conference "TIMI 2025. Technologies of information modeling and engineering".

More than 20 information models* of the largest organizations and enterprises from various branches of industrial and civil construction, developed using domestic software products, were submitted to the competition. The projects were evaluated in terms of the efficiency of using the provided functionality and the level of complexity of the information models.

Rosneft is one of the leaders in the development of 3D design. Hundreds of objects have been designed in the Company using information modeling technologies. The information model helps to confirm the possibility of safe operation. Subsequently, the digital project is used at the stages of reconstruction and technical re-equipment of objects.

Samara specialists presented a three-dimensional model of the designed facilities of the Vostochno-Kapitonovskoye field of Orenburgneft (the Company's production asset). The development includes a gas compressor station and a preliminary water discharge unit. The total area of the complex will exceed 60 hectares.

The project contains more than 78 thousand different objects, each of which is linked to information from the construction schedule. The schedule integrated with the 3D model allows you to quickly receive information about each object of the model, including the delivery and installation dates of the structure and equipment.

Specialists from the Krasnodar Scientific Institute have created a digital 3D model of an oil pumping station, which will reduce the construction period by 10% and also improve the operational characteristics of the facility.

Reference:

An information model (BIM model) is a detailed model, a data storage of the object's geometry, materials and equipment. It is used throughout the entire life cycle of the object: during construction, reconstruction, operation and dismantling.

The information model is effective at all stages of the life cycle of a capital construction project. At the design stage, it improves the quality of design and estimate documentation by minimizing possible errors, which will subsequently reduce the time of construction and installation works. At the construction stage, the model helps to monitor the progress of work, issue comments on deviations from the project and record progress using laser scanning. At the operation stage, the "digital twin" allows you to store the necessary documentation for each object, plan the maintenance of the object's equipment. As a promising development, the functionality of information modeling includes the ability to export information models to a virtual reality environment to create VR simulators for employee training.

Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz produced the 10-millionth ton of oil

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The cumulative oil production of Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz (a joint venture of Rosneft and Gazprom Neft) has reached 10 million tons since the start of development of licensed areas located in Krasnoyarsk Krai.

This indicator was achieved thanks to the advanced launch of the main production facilities, the successful implementation of research work, and the introduction of innovative approaches in development and production.

The Kuyumbinskoye oil field is located in the most ancient fractured rocks on the planet of the Riphean period, the age of which exceeds 1 billion years. Careful development of geological exploration projects using digital software packages has ensured the high success of exploratory drilling over the past seven years.

A powerful production complex has been created at the Kuyumbinsky field, including more than 150 facilities, including a central oil collection point, an acceptance point, a tank farm, and 450 km of oil collection pipelines. Production is provided by more than 360 wells, most of which are horizontal. The oil prepared to commercial quality is transported to consumers via the Kuyumba-Taishet main oil pipeline and then to the Eastern Siberia – Pacific Ocean pipeline system. 125 km of roads, 240 km of power lines, and energy centers have been built at the field. Dormitories and shift camps have been built for comfortable living of oil workers.

Along with the development of the Kuyumbinskoye field, Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz is conducting pilot work at the Tersko-Kamovsky license area. High starting flow rates have been obtained at the wells. Commissioning of a 58 km pipeline to the central collection point of the Kuyumbinskoye field will create opportunities to increase the production of Evenki oil by 20%. Using the existing infrastructure of the Kuyumbinskoye field will allow for a synergistic effect and reduce the development time of the Tersko-Kamovsky area.

Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz employs over 1.8 thousand specialists, 60% of whom are residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, including remote northern territories. In 2025, the company entered the top 3 best employers in the region in the category "Energy and raw materials extraction".

Source: Rosneft – An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Rosneft and the Voronezh Tourist Information Centre (TIC) have presented a new tourist automobile route, Cave Temples, which will allow travellers to see the most picturesque places in the region.

Rosneft actively supports initiatives to develop domestic tourism and aims to create comfortable conditions for car travelers. Developing roadside service and improving the level of customer service provided at Rosneft filling stations is one of the Company's priority areas of activity.

The presentation of the new route took place as part of the summer festival "Night in Divnogorye", which took place on July 5 in the museum-reserve "Divnogorye". Entertainment events and a quiz with memorable prizes were held for the guests. Coloring books "Mishutka's Journey through the Voronezh Region" were also prepared for children.

The Cave Temples route starts in Voronezh and ends in Belogorye. Its total length one way is 286 km. The route passes through the infrastructure of Rosneft roadside services, where tourists can fill up their cars with high-quality fuel, rest and have a snack.

There are several cave temples in the Voronezh Region: these are passages cut into soft chalk rocks, historically used as religious buildings – underground churches and monasteries. Following the new route along the M4 "Don" highway from Voronezh to the south, travelers can visit all three cave temple complexes – in the Liski and Podgorensky districts.

There are two cave temples in the Divnogorye Reserve that are accessible to visitors. One of them, the icon of the Mother of God of Sicily in Bolshie Diva, is located directly on the territory of the museum-reserve. It is carved into the base of a chalk remnant-div, has two tiers connected by a staircase. You can visit the inside of the temple as part of excursions conducted by the staff of the museum-reserve. You can walk to the cave temple in honor of the feast of the Nativity of John the Baptist in Malye Diva in 30-40 minutes.

The second complex is located in the village of Kostomarovo in the Podgorensky district. Of particular interest is the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands. It includes a labyrinth of cave corridors and has a throne, considered the most ancient, and an icon of the Mother of God "Blessed Heaven" revered by believers.

About 80 km to the south you can see the Voskresensky Belogorsky Monastery in Belogorye. The length of the caves of the Belogorsky Voskresensky Monastery is more than 2 km, they are the longest of the artificially laid passages in the mountains. The temple is open daily from 10 am to 4 pm. Guides work on site.

Rosneft and the Voronezh Region have a Memorandum of Cooperation in the Development of Domestic Tourism, signed in 2024 at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The company, together with the region, has already presented four routes for car travel in Voronezh and the Voronezh Region in the following directions: North, South, West, East. The routes include popular tourist destinations located both in Voronezh itself and near federal highways.
