Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to reappoint Mikhail Piotrovsky as General Director of the State Hermitage Museum for a five-year term.

Mikhail Piotrovsky has been working at the Hermitage since 1991. At first, he was deputy director for research, and in 1992 he took the position of director of the museum.

Mikhail Piotrovsky is a Doctor of Historical Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Member of the Presidium of the RAS, and Full Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. He is a member of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for Culture and Art and the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for Science and Education.

Mikhail Piotrovsky is a full Cavalier of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland". He was also awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky and the Order of Friendship.

In 2003, he was awarded the Presidential Prize in Literature and Art, and in 2017, the State Prize of the Russian Federation in Literature and Art.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak paid a working visit to the Syrian Arab Republic. The Deputy Prime Minister held meetings with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shibani and Head of the Syrian Presidential Administration Maher al-Sharaa.

The parties considered the prospects for interaction between the countries across the entire spectrum of areas of bilateral cooperation.

The Russian side noted the possibility of providing assistance in restoring the energy sector and the humanitarian sphere, including the readiness to launch a number of projects to provide the Syrian Arab Republic with fuel, food, and pharmaceuticals. Cooperation in the cultural, scientific and educational spheres was also discussed. Thus, at the moment, almost 4 thousand Syrians are studying in Russian universities, which can become a good basis for training qualified national personnel.

Alexander Novak proposed resuming the work of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, which has proven itself to be a good instrument for mutual development in the economic sphere.

"Russia and Syria are linked by long-standing ties of friendship and partnership, time-tested, based on mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests. We hope that at the new historical stage they will also develop for the benefit of our peoples. The current visit was a good opportunity for a substantive discussion of the prospects of Russian-Syrian relations," said Alexander Novak.

Perm Krai, the Republic of Dagestan, Vladimir Oblast, the Republic of Mari El, the Chuvash Republic and Tyumen Oblast will receive financial support for the implementation of a new stage of the program for resettling citizens from dilapidated housing. This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

"All regions of our country will take part in the program for resettling people from emergency housing within the framework of the new national project "Infrastructure for Life". The Territorial Development Fund continues to actively consider applications from regions to receive financial support for the implementation of the new stage of the program for resettling citizens. Today, applications from six more regions were approved for a total of 2.28 billion rubles. About 3.7 thousand people will move from emergency housing with an area of 52.6 thousand square meters. Work on reviewing applications has just begun and will continue," said Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister specified that Perm Krai will receive 1.27 billion rubles to resettle 2,153 people from dilapidated buildings with an area of 32,800 square meters, the Republic of Dagestan – 334.6 million rubles to resettle 586 people from dilapidated buildings with an area of 4,200 square meters, Vladimir Oblast – 192.1 million rubles to resettle 258 people from dilapidated buildings with an area of 4,800 square meters, the Mari El Republic – 175.5 million rubles to resettle 269 people from dilapidated buildings with an area of 3,700 square meters, the Chuvash Republic – 231.7 million rubles to resettle 256 people from dilapidated buildings with an area of 4,500 square meters, Tyumen Oblast – 82.1 million rubles to resettle 159 people from dilapidated buildings with an area of 2,500 square meters.

The program for resettling citizens from emergency housing is being implemented within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". It is supervised by the Ministry of Construction of Russia, and the Territorial Development Fund acts as the operator.

"Resettlement of emergency housing is one of the important tasks to improve people's living conditions, which we continue to work hard on. The new stage of the program includes houses recognized as emergency after 2017. Previously, the fund approved applications from six regions – Voronezh, Kurgan, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod regions, the Republic of Karelia and Altai Krai – for more than 8 billion rubles. This will allow resettling 8.2 thousand people from emergency housing with a total area of about 147.6 million square meters," said Vasily Kupyzin, General Director of the Territorial Development Fund.

Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin held a meeting of the Government Commission on Improving the Efficiency of Federal Property Use and Territorial Development. The key topic was the involvement of inefficiently used land plots and real estate objects in economic circulation.

"The government has set an ambitious task for the effective use of every hectare of federal land. We see that significant amounts of property are still not involved in economic activity. Our goal is not just to transfer assets, but to ensure their real development to create new production facilities, housing and social infrastructure. It is important that each decision of the commission works for the development of regions within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life", including the development of more than 2 thousand key settlements," said Marat Khusnullin.

During the meeting, a report was heard on the progress of implementing the decisions previously adopted by the commission.

In addition, the commission approved decisions on the transfer of a number of federal land plots and real estate objects to the ownership of the subjects, as well as under the management of "DOM.RF" for their subsequent sale. Issues of transferring cultural heritage sites for further restoration, issues of implementing integrated territorial development projects and involving in economic turnover the property transferred to the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District were also considered.

The report of the state company DOM.RF on the performance of the functions of an agent of the Russian Federation in the provision of federal land plots for territorial development was discussed and approved separately.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities Nikita Stasishin, General Director of DOM.RF Vitaly Mutko, General Director of the Territorial Development Fund Vasily Kupyzin, Head of the Federal Agency for State Property Management Vadim Yakovenko, as well as other members of the government commission and representatives of the regions.
