TEHRAN, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) — The United States' involvement in Israel's attack on Iran has lowered Tehran's trust in Washington to "below zero," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Monday.

The diplomat made the statement at a weekly press conference, answering a question about Iran's preconditions for resuming talks on its nuclear program with the United States.

“We have no trust in the United States… Israel’s attack on Iran against the backdrop of /indirect Iranian-American/ negotiations and the subsequent participation of the United States in it, in fact, left no room for even zero trust /in Washington/,” noted E. Bagai.

He said Iran had not yet made any decision on resuming talks with the United States, adding that talks and messages between the two sides were continuing through intermediaries.

E. Bagai also condemned the US sanctions, saying they weakened international rules and norms regarding free trade.

On June 13, two days before the start of the sixth round of proxy talks on Iran's nuclear program with the United States, Israel launched massive airstrikes on several Iranian sites, including nuclear and military facilities, killing senior military officials, nuclear scientists and scores of civilians. Iran responded with several waves of missile and drone strikes against Israel.

On June 22, the US military bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan. Iran responded by striking the US Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

On June 24, after a 12-day war, a ceasefire was reached between Iran and Israel. –0–

URUMQI, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) — The number of Tianshan-branded trains in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region running multimodal freight services has exceeded 1,000 since the service was launched, statistics showed.

As of July 31, 2025, a total of 1,077 Tianshan train trips had been made, transporting 108,463 standard containers with goods weighing about 1.9505 million tons, achieving import and export volume of nearly 24.507 billion yuan (about 3.41 billion US dollars).

According to the administration of China's Xinjiang Pilot Free Trade Zone, 412 Tianshan train trips were made in the first half of 2025, with the volume and value of transportation increasing by 72.9 percent and 58.47 percent year-on-year, respectively. All three of the above indicators each reached new historical highs.

This dynamic of rapid development was due to the inextricable link with institutional innovations within the framework of the “Tianshan train plus express customs clearance” model, which reduced the average time for trains to pass through the checkpoint by 2-3 hours.

Tianshan train services were launched in November 2023. Their main freight routes cover Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

Today, the Tianshan train service network, which has become a "golden channel" for Xinjiang's opening up to the outside world and an important means of transportation for Xinjiang's integration into the joint construction of the Belt and Road, has extended to Russia and some European cities. The continuous expansion of the route list and the improvement of operational efficiency have brought real and tangible convenience to enterprises. -0-
