XI'AN, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — The 2025 Eurasian Economic Forum will be held from Sept. 23 to 25 in Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province. The main theme of the upcoming event is "consolidating new driving forces in Eurasia and jointly building a new architecture of sustainable development," according to a statement from the organizers.

The 2025 forum aims to promote the country's overall diplomatic configuration, showcase its achievements in Chinese modernization, and help build a new model of regional cooperation in Eurasia. HANOI, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — At least three people have been killed and 10 others injured in northern and central Vietnam due to heavy rains, strong winds and floods triggered by Typhoon Kajiki, the country's Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said on Tuesday.

The storm also damaged more than 6,800 houses, flooded more than 28,800 hectares of rice crops and 2,200 hectares of other crops, and knocked down almost 18,000 trees, Voice of Vietnam radio reported, citing the department.

COLOMBO, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has continued to grow and expand over the past 24 years, demonstrating its inclusiveness as well as its attractiveness and viability, Yasiru Ranaraja, a local international affairs expert and founding director of the Belt and Road Initiative-Sri Lanka, told Xinhua on Thursday.

According to him, the SCO, the world's largest regional organization in terms of geographic coverage and population, provides a reliable platform for promoting equal dialogue and solidarity in addressing regional issues. SYDNEY, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Tuesday accused Iran of orchestrating anti-Semitic attacks in Australia and announced that Iranian Ambassador Ahmad Sadeghi had been ordered to leave the country.

Speaking at a press conference, the Prime Minister said the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) had gathered credible evidence that Iran had orchestrated at least two anti-Semitic attacks on Jewish communities in Sydney and Melbourne since October 2023.

"Iran tried to cover up its involvement, but ASIO believes it was behind the attacks," said Mr Albanese.

The Australian embassy in Tehran has suspended its activities and all its diplomats are safe in a third country, the prime minister said.

BISHKEK, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) — China is one of the key architects of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Its contributions have made the organization more influential, dynamic, open and global, former Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Alikbek Jekshenkulov told Xinhua.

According to him, China has been consistently promoting mutually beneficial ideas of integration since the first days of the SCO's founding. The country is making efforts to align its initiatives with regional programs of other countries, and is also actively implementing projects in the areas of security, infrastructure, and education.
