Moscow, September 16 /Xinhua/ – The number of Chinese advertisers on the Yandex Internet portal increased by 45 percent in the first half of 2025, with their total investment exceeding 3 billion rubles /about 36.2 million US dollars/, Forbes reported, citing Yandex's press service.

"In January-June 2025, the number of Chinese advertisers on Yandex increased by 45 percent compared to the same period last year. Their total investment exceeded 3 billion rubles, the company's press service told Forbes. The leaders in terms of advertising budgets were representatives of the auto industry, and the top also included companies from the gaming industry and from the sphere of household appliances and electronics," the Forbes publication says.

Chinese companies are most active in investing in advertising in mobile applications, with corresponding investments growing 2.2 times. The number of Chinese mobile applications connected to the Yandex advertising network increased by 42 percent.

According to Yandex's press service, Chinese gaming companies have increased their advertising investments almost twofold, while Chinese fashion brands have increased their advertising budgets by 40 percent. The growth in advertising budgets for medical and pharmaceutical companies was 38 percent, and for automakers, 29 percent.

BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — China Coast Guard (CCG) spokesman Gan Yu on Tuesday criticized the Philippines for seriously encroaching on China's sovereignty in the South China Sea.

Gan Yu made the remarks while commenting on an incident on Tuesday in which more than 10 Philippine service vessels illegally entered Chinese territorial waters near Huangyan Island, ignoring repeated warnings from the Chinese side.

The official said that the BOC took deterrent measures in accordance with the law and forced out the vessels.

He said one of the Philippine vessels, number 3014, endangered the Chinese vessels and their crews by making “dangerous maneuvers” and deliberately crashing into one of the BOC ships that was carrying out standard law enforcement procedures.

"China's actions on the ground were professional, legal and justified," Gan Yu said.

Stressing that Huangyan Island is an inalienable part of China's territory, Gan Yu said that the Philippines' actions had grossly infringed on China's sovereignty and violated relevant provisions of Chinese law and international law.

The spokesman warned the Philippines to immediately stop its encroachments and assured that the BOC would continue law enforcement patrols in the area in accordance with the law to protect China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights. –0–

Kyiv, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — Ukraine attacked the Saratov Oil Refinery (OR) in the Saratov region in western Russia on Tuesday night, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported on its Telegram channel.

The Saratov Oil Refinery specializes in the production of more than 20 types of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel fuel and fuel oil, and, according to the Ukrainian side, is involved in meeting the needs of the Russian army.

After the strike, explosions thundered and a fire broke out in the area of the oil refinery. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.

The operation was carried out by the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Almaty, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a sovereign-guaranteed loan equivalent to $400 million for Kazakhstan's national company KazAvtoZhol to build a new highway in the south of the country, business information center Kapital.kz reported, citing the bank's press service.

The project involves the design and construction of a 102 km long section of the highway bypassing the city of Saryagash in the Turkestan region. The new highway will be equipped with an intelligent traffic management system and will reduce the load on city streets, reduce travel time and increase the mobility and efficiency of the region's transport system.

JAKARTA, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) — Indonesia plans to return with a more comprehensive concept to the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo to be held from Sept. 17 to 21, 2025 in China's Nanning, with pavilions dedicated to commodities, national themes and artificial intelligence, the country's Commerce Ministry said on Tuesday.

“Indonesia’s participation in the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo 2025 is a strategic move to showcase national potential, promote exports and attract investment from regional trading partners,” said Fajarini Puntodewi, director general of the National Export Development Department of the Ministry of Commerce.

She expressed confidence that this year's participation in the China-ASEAN EXPO will surpass previous achievements and create more concrete opportunities for Indonesian enterprises.

The exhibition will feature 84 Indonesian companies showcasing a wide range of flagship products, from coffee, spices and seafood to coconut products, edible birds' nests, fashion apparel and accessories.

Пекин, 16 сентября /Синьхуа/ — 5-й Всемирный конгресс по биосферным заповедникам пройдет в городе Ханчжоу /адм. центр пров. Чжэцзян, Восточный Китай/ с 22 по 25 сентября. Об этом сообщила Академия наук Китая /АНК/.

Это будет первый случай проведения такого мероприятия в Азии, заявил Хэ Хунпин, вице-президент АНК, на пресс-конференции, организованной Пресс-канцелярией Госсовета КНР во вторник. В мероприятии примут участие около 4 000 делегатов из более чем 150 стран и регионов мира.

По его словам, Китай воспользуется конгрессом как возможностью для ознакомления с мировым опытом в области экологического управления, углубления международного научно-технологического сотрудничества и достижения прорывов в области сохранения биоразнообразия и рационального природопользования.

Ожидается, что в ходе конгресса будет обнародован Ханчжоуский план действий, который послужит руководством для программы ЮНЕСКО “Человек и биосфера” /МАБ/ на следующее десятилетие.

ЮНЕСКО запустила программу МАБ в 1971 году для содействия устойчивому управлению биоразнообразием и гармоничному взаимодействию между человеком и природой. Она действует через Всемирную сеть биосферных заповедников, которая включает 759 биосферных заповедников в 136 странах.

Примерно каждые десять лет ЮНЕСКО созывает Всемирный конгресс по биосферным заповедникам в целях оценки прогресса, обмена опытом и определения будущих направлений программы МАБ.
