Moscow, September 22 (Xinhua) – Claims that Russia has allegedly violated other countries' airspace are unfounded, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday.

ISTANBUL, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has lifted retaliatory tariffs on some U.S. goods, including alcoholic beverages, passenger cars, leaf tobacco and cosmetics, according to a decree published in the Official Gazette on Monday.

In 2018, the United States imposed additional tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. Moscow, September 22 (Xinhua) — The First World Public Assembly "New World of Conscious Unity" was held in Moscow on September 20-21. SEOUL, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) — South Korean President Lee Jae-myung said his country would face a financial crisis comparable to 1997 if it accepts U.S. investment demands without any guarantees, Reuters reported on Monday.

"Without the currency swap, if we withdraw US$350 billion in accordance with US requirements and invest all of these funds in cash in the US, the Republic of Korea will face a situation similar to the 1997 financial crisis," he told Reuters in an interview on Friday.

Under a verbal agreement reached in July, South Korea promised to invest $350 billion in the United States in exchange for tariff reductions on South Korean goods.

UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) — The leaders of the African Union (AU), the European Union (EU) and the United Nations (UN) met Sunday at the UN headquarters in New York, reaffirming their support for multilateralism as the most effective way to address contemporary challenges.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, was attended by AU Commission President Mahmoud Ali Yusuf, European Council President António Costa, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and UN Secretary-General António Guterres, as well as senior officials from the secretariats of the three organizations.
