The pre-holiday shopping rush has led to increased congestion in courier delivery and logistics in general. In Taizhou, Jiangsu Province, as orders for mooncakes, Chinese mitten crabs, and other products surged, couriers' workload tripled compared to normal days. In response, local authorities have established 406 service centers, centered around neighborhood community centers, creating "cozy homes" where people can relax at any time. Couriers can rest, charge their devices, and so on at one of these nearby centers after unloading goods, food delivery drivers waiting for orders, and online taxi drivers between trips.

Minsk, September 29 (Xinhua) — The Chinese Cultural Center in Minsk hosted a poetry evening on Friday, titled "Under the Same Sky at This Time – A Poetry Evening of the Mid-Autumn Festival." Around 150 Belarusian enthusiasts of Chinese culture attended, celebrating the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.

The event was jointly organized by the Chinese Cultural Center in Minsk and the Confucius Institute at the Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages.

Xia Guangyuan, Cultural Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Belarus and Director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Minsk, delivered a speech in which he noted that "civilizations are enriched through mutual learning, and cultures become diverse through exchanges." He added that although China and Belarus are separated by thousands of kilometers, the countries have always been connected and have advanced together. The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important traditional holiday for the Chinese nation, and he expressed hope that the series of events will promote cultural exchanges between China and Belarus.

The joint reading of Chinese poetry by Chinese and Belarusian students, along with the performance of songs and dances from both countries, allowed the moonlight described by the poets to transcend time, space, and language barriers, connecting the hearts of the two peoples and perfectly blending Chinese poetry with Belarusian art, noted Sheng Xuemei, Director of the Confucius Institute at the Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages (BSFU). She expressed her hope that the bright moon would serve as a testament to Chinese-Belarusian friendship and that cultural exchanges between the two countries would flourish.

The Institute's Belarusian director, Tatyana Demyanenko, noted that the poetry evening will help the Belarusian people better understand China and its deep traditions and culture, and will also contribute to bringing the peoples of the two countries closer together.

Before the poetry evening, guests took part in master classes in calligraphy, paper folding, and Chinese knot making. The concert program was varied and included such performances as bilingual recitations of Tang Dynasty poetry by Chinese and Belarusian children, song performances, poetry readings, and dances. The audience was immersed in the atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

JINAN, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) — China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea (ROK) have adopted a new joint action plan on environmental cooperation for the period 2026-2030, Chinese Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu announced on Sunday.

As Huang Runqiu announced at the 26th Trilateral Meeting of Environmental Ministers of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, held in Yantai City, Shandong Province, eastern China, the plan outlines a series of joint activities focused on eight priority areas, laying a solid foundation for trilateral environmental cooperation over the next five years.

According to him, the three countries' environmental agencies are strengthening practical cooperation to jointly address regional and global environmental challenges. Three phases of such plans have been implemented to date, achieving tangible results in air pollution control, sand and dust storm prevention, and chemical management for environmental protection.

UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) — The United Nations confirmed Sunday that sanctions against Iran have been reinstated.

“In accordance with the procedure set out in paragraphs 11 and 12 of Security Council resolution 2231 /2015/, as of 27 September at 20:00 Eastern Daylight Time, all provisions of resolutions 1696 /2006/, 1737 /2006/, 1747 /2007/, 1803 /2008/, 1835 /2008/ and 1929 /2010/ shall enter into force in the same manner as before the adoption of resolution 2231 /2015/ on 20 July 2015,” the UN Secretary-General’s press service said in a statement to correspondents.

The sanctions list maintained by the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 1737 has been reinstated and includes 43 individuals and 78 entities that were included on it prior to the adoption of resolution 2231.

Last month, France, Britain and Germany formally invoked a snapback mechanism that allows UN sanctions to be reimposed within 30 days if Iran is found guilty of violating the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

On September 19, the UN Security Council failed to adopt a resolution that would have extended sanctions relief on Iran under the JCPOA. A follow-up resolution, which would have extended both the JCPOA and Resolution 2231 for six months, was also rejected by the Security Council on Friday.

BEIJING, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Democratic People's Republic of Korea Foreign Minister Choi Son-hee in Beijing on Sunday, saying that maintaining, strengthening and developing bilateral relations is the unwavering strategic policy of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government.

Wang Yi, also a member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, noted that China and the DPRK are friendly neighbors, connected by shared mountains and rivers. He stated that the traditional friendship forged and nurtured by the older generations of leaders of the two parties and countries is a shared and valuable asset for both sides.

As the Chinese diplomat recalled, earlier this month, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Xi Jinping and General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Kim Jong-un held a historic meeting and reached important agreements, indicating the direction and outlining a plan for the development of relations between China and the DPRK.

Wang Yi said the two sides need to implement the important consensus of the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, strengthen strategic communication, and carry out closer exchanges and cooperation, so as to further improve the well-being of the two peoples and jointly promote peace and development in the region.

The Chinese Foreign Minister spoke about the domestic situation in China. He noted that China and North Korea are socialist countries with shared ideals and goals, and therefore the two sides should expand the exchange of governance experiences to advance socialism in their respective countries.

China highly appreciates the DPRK's firm support for China's core interests and major concerns, as well as its support for Xi Jinping's vision of building a community with a shared future for humanity, the Initiative on Global Development, the Initiative on Global Security, the Initiative on Global Civilization, and the Initiative on Global Governance, Wang Yi emphasized.

He added that China expects to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the DPRK in international and regional affairs, oppose any form of hegemony, and protect the common interests of both sides, as well as international fairness and justice.

Choi Song-hee, in turn, stated that the celebrations in China to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War fully demonstrated China's historical achievements, its comprehensive national strength, and international status.

According to the DPRK Foreign Minister, the historic meeting between the top leaders of the two parties and two countries provided strategic guidance and gave strong impetus to deepening relations between the DPRK and China.

The North Korean side is ready to work with China to implement the consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and two countries, strengthen strategic communication, expand friendly exchanges, deepen practical cooperation, and contribute to raising relations between the DPRK and the PRC to a new, higher level, Choi Song-hui said.

She emphasized that the DPRK is ready to closely cooperate with China in multilateral affairs, jointly oppose unilateralism and power politics, and contribute to the construction of a more just world order. –0–
