In recent years, Chinese automobile brands have been actively entering the Middle East market, with their recognition and market share steadily growing. A shift from trade exchanges to joint industrial development is underway, and this wave of "going abroad" is helping transform Chinese auto brands from "unknown guests" into "trusted partners."

Chinese brands shine in the Middle East market

In the UAE, Chinese automobile brands are gaining the trust of both dealers and a growing number of consumers. Saif Akkari, CEO of one automobile dealership group, told a correspondent that Chinese-made cars are distinguished by their excellent quality, customer inquiries are constantly growing, and market interest continues to grow. Abdullah Fadavi, a UAE consumer, has purchased three Jetour cars in three years and praised them highly: "They're excellent cars, very comfortable to drive."

Avi Kenneth, a senior manager at an Israeli importer of Chinese cars, noted that Chinese auto brands demonstrate outstanding results in innovation, reliability, and value for money, earning them recognition. Israel's largest financial publication, The Marker, published an article stating that Chinese models are not only cheaper than their class counterparts but also superior in range, space, and features.

According to a report by the Turkish Automobile Dealers and Mobility Association, sales of Chinese automobile brands in the Turkish market have grown significantly in recent years. In 2024, Chery sales in Turkey exceeded 57,000 units, up more than 40% from the previous year. BYD's market performance since the opening of its Turkish plant has been even more impressive, with the company's sales increasing almost ninefold in the previous year.

"Four Key Advantages" Helps Win Market Recognition

High performance, advanced intelligent functions, attractive price-performance ratio, and perfect after-sales service are the main factors that make Chinese automobile brands gain recognition from consumers in the Middle East.

Zhan Jingjing, Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Society of Automotive Engineers, noted that the Middle East climate is characterized by high temperatures and severe sandstorms, placing increased demands on vehicle seals, cooling systems, and air filters. Chinese automobile brands undergo rigorous testing under extreme conditions before entering foreign markets, ensuring the high quality of their products.

Israeli media believe that most Chinese cars have more spacious interiors and more premium options. "Chinese cars are equipped with many features previously found only in premium European models. Such innovations are precisely in line with the preferences of Israeli consumers," says Avi Kenneth.

Continuous deepening of cooperation promotes joint industrial development

In recent years, a number of Middle Eastern countries have been actively promoting a green transition and developing their own automotive industries. Chinese automakers, following local development strategies, are investing in the construction of local factories, thereby promoting localization of production and training of personnel, and facilitating the joint development of the industry.

In the UAE, new energy vehicle brands such as BYD, Jetour, and Hongqi have already entered the local market. According to Zhang Jingjing, local authorities are actively encouraging the green transition and supporting the development of the new energy industry. Chinese electric vehicles have significant cost and technology advantages, making their market prospects quite favorable.

According to a representative of the Israel Automobile Importers Association, the emergence of Chinese electric vehicles has accelerated the Israeli auto industry's transition to the era of new energy technologies, which has a positive impact on achieving Israel's environmental goals.

Amar Jabbari, a dealer for the ROX Motor brand in Saudi Arabia, noted that Chinese automakers not only sell cars in the local market, but also pay great attention to training local personnel and developing a local ecosystem, striving to jointly create potential for long-term development.

Turkish Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacir stated that investments by Chinese companies "will be an important driver of transformation in the Turkish automotive industry," will help introduce new energy technologies, increase Turkey's export potential, and create high-value-added jobs for the local market.

BEIJING, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) — Shenzhou 21 crew members Zhang Lu and Wu Fei on Tuesday successfully completed the first round of extravehicular activity (EVA) of their mission, during which they used new spacesuits delivered to the space station for the first time.

The astronauts made their first spacewalk wearing the second-generation Feitian spacesuits, Models D and E, which were delivered aboard the Tianzhou-9 cargo ship on July 15. While maintaining the basic white color scheme, one suit features red trim, and the other blue.

"This spacewalk fully demonstrated the crucial role of human activity in extravehicular activities, while the spacesuits provided a reliable guarantee of the astronauts' safety," said Zhai Zhihong, an employee of the China Astronaut Research and Training Center.

According to the center, the service life of the spacesuits has been increased from the previous standard of 15 spacewalks over three years to 20 spacewalks over four years.

The second-generation Feitian extravehicular activity suits have provided reliable support for all spacewalks during both the construction and operation of the Chinese space station.

Beijing, December 9 (Xinhua) — A symposium on the study and research of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy was held in Beijing on Tuesday. Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese Foreign Minister, attended and delivered a speech.

As Wang Yi stated, Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy is a continuously evolving and open-ended Marxist theory that is always at the forefront of the era, responding to new questions around the world, and providing powerful ideological tools and scientific guidance for the bold and decisive advancement of Chinese diplomacy.

The head of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs recalled that General Secretary Xi Jinping personally facilitated the implementation of a number of major theoretical and practical innovations, and that under his leadership, China's foreign policy has achieved historic successes and undergone historic changes.

"We should regard the reprint of 'Thesis for the Study of Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy' as an opportunity to deepen our understanding of the advanced nature of this thought in promoting theoretical innovation and its historical initiative in serving the cause of national rejuvenation," Wang Yi said.

“Looking back on the extraordinary development of diplomacy in the new era, we increasingly realize that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s strategic leadership is our fundamental guarantee, that unwavering commitment to Chinese characteristics is the foundation of our confidence, that building a community with a shared future for mankind is our shining banner, and that creating a favorable international environment for Chinese-style modernization is our indispensable mission,” the minister emphasized.

Wang Yi noted that the diplomatic and foreign policy fronts must make new and more significant contributions to the comprehensive promotion of building a strong state and national rejuvenation through Chinese-style modernization.
