JERUSALEM, March 24 (Xinhua) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that Israel intends to use its strikes on Iran to ensure the protection of the country's "vital interests" within the framework of any possible diplomatic agreement.

Following a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, Netanyahu noted in a video message that Trump believes there is an opportunity to "use the enormous achievements" of the joint US-Israeli attack on Iran to "realize the goals of the war through an agreement."

“We will defend our vital interests in any situation,” he emphasized.

At the same time, B. Netanyahu stated that Israeli strikes against Iran and the Hezbollah movement in Lebanon were continuing. Shortly after D. Trump's announcement of conflict resolution talks, the Israeli military reported a new series of airstrikes on Tehran, as well as the destruction of another bridge over the Litani River in southern Lebanon, which, according to them, the group was using to transport weapons and fighters.

Exclusive: China's Global Civilization Initiative Resonates with Central Asia's Historical Experience, Says Kyrgyz Expert

Bishkek, March 24 /Xinhua/ — Central Asia is one of the oldest meeting places of cultures. China's Global Civilization Initiative resonates with the region's historical experience in the exchange of civilizations, Mars Sariev, a political scientist from Kyrgyzstan and an expert on Central Asian affairs, told Xinhua.

The initiative has become an important public good in the realm of ideas and thought, provided by China to the international community in the new era. It advocates overcoming the alienation between civilizations through interaction. M. Sariev believes that this concept is fully consistent with the approaches of countries in the region in the area of civilization.

"Central Asia can be called one of the oldest meeting places of cultures. The most important routes of the Great Silk Road passed through the territory of modern-day Kyrgyzstan. Chinese, Russian, Persian, Turkic, Middle Eastern (Middle Eastern – Xinhua), and other civilizations intersected here. Along with these goods, various ideas, religions, scientific knowledge, and artistic styles spread. Therefore, the idea of civilizational exchange is very natural for the region," he said.

According to the expert, the Central Asian region has served as a bridge between East and West for centuries. Today, it can also play an important role—becoming a space for civilizational mediation in Eurasia, where different cultural worlds don't clash but rather learn from and understand each other.

“In this sense, Chinese initiatives for humanitarian and cultural dialogue are effectively restoring the spirit of openness that once existed along the Great Silk Road,” he emphasized.

Kyrgyzstan currently chairs the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This year marks the 25th anniversary of the organization's founding. According to M. Sariev, the SCO, which unites various civilizations, has, over more than 20 years of practice, confirmed China's vision that different civilizations can peacefully coexist and develop mutually beneficial cooperation.

"If you look closely at the evolution of the SCO, it becomes clear that it is an international format that has, from the outset, placed an emphasis on trust and pragmatic cooperation," he noted. "The Organization brings together countries with different political systems and cultural traditions. But it is precisely this diversity that has become the Organization's defining characteristic."

The "Shanghai Spirit," which the SCO adheres to, emphasizes respect for cultural diversity. China also champions the idea that civilizations are neither good nor bad (civilizations are not divided into superior and inferior, good and bad). According to M. Sariev, these positions are extremely important, especially given the current global trend toward establishing a hierarchy of civilizations.

"In the modern world, the logic of bloc confrontation is growing. However, the SCO was initially built on the principle of equality and consideration of each other's interests. This is precisely why the 'Shanghai Spirit' emerged, which values mutual trust, consultation, and the search for compromise. In fact, the Organization has become a kind of laboratory where the possibility of peaceful coexistence between different civilizations is tested in practice," the Kyrgyz political scientist emphasized.

According to the expert, for the countries of Central Asia, respect for cultural diversity is not an abstract philosophy, but a reflection of their own historical experience. "Our region has always been at the crossroads of civilizations, resulting in a unique environment where the coexistence of different cultures has become the norm. Therefore, attempts to rank civilizations in our region are met with considerable skepticism," he stated.

The expert also believes that sustainability arises where there is balance and mutual respect. "Therefore, the principle of the equality of civilizations, in essence, means recognizing the right of each society to develop along its own historical path. In the modern world, this model of international relations appears more realistic and sustainable," concluded M. Sariev.

The Russian Foreign Ministry called the West's illegal actions in the oceans unacceptable.

Moscow, March 24 /Xinhua/ — The current situation in the world's oceans, characterized by illegal actions by Western countries, is absolutely unacceptable, according to a statement published Monday on the Russian Foreign Ministry's website.

"The situation developing in the world's oceans recently is becoming completely unacceptable. European countries like France, Sweden, and Finland are stopping and escorting unwanted vessels to their ports with impunity, accusing them of violating some kind of 'international' sanctions," the statement reads.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that the European countries' pretext is the need to comply with the EU's illegal restrictions. To achieve the goal of depriving Russia of income from international trade, the EU invented the term "shadow fleet," which does not exist in international maritime law and is used as cover for robberies on sea lanes.

The statement states that only those sanctions approved by the UN Security Council are international. Unilateral, unlawful restrictions adopted by individual states or limited associations of states are neither international nor legitimate. The inconsistency of unilateral sanctions with international law has been repeatedly confirmed by UN General Assembly resolutions.

“Those who aim to turn the Baltic Sea, as well as other waters, into ‘internal waters’ of NATO and the EU must understand that incidents of robbery and lawlessness will not go unanswered by us, using all necessary means,” the Russian Foreign Ministry warned.

HANGZHOU, March 24 (Xinhua) — Chinese robotics company Westlake Robotics unveiled the Titan o1 humanoid robot, equipped with its own large General Action Expert (GAE) model, which can imitate human movements in real time, without limitations in time and space.

This basic model allows dozens of robots to perform the same tasks simultaneously under the control of a single person, the company said.

Demonstrating the development in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, eastern China, a cameraman in a motion-capture suit waved his arms, turned, and kicked a ball, while the Titan o1 repeated each movement within milliseconds.

From the angle of rotation of the arm and torso to the length of the step and the height of the leg lift during the strike, the rhythm of the robot's movements completely matched the rhythm of the operator.

"These movements were a response to the operator's spontaneous actions in real time," explained Westlake Robotics founder Wang Donglin. He added that regardless of the operator's identity or how their movements change, the Titan o1 is able to quickly adapt and keep up.

In the human body, the cerebellum is responsible for motor coordination, maintaining balance, and ensuring precise, smooth movements. The GAE serves as a powerful "general-purpose cerebellum" for a humanoid robot, allowing it to instantly perform the most appropriate actions upon receiving a signal, regardless of whether those actions have been performed previously.

Additionally, GAE has inter-body adaptability, allowing this base model to be used in robots of various types and sizes, Westlake Robotics reported.
