LA PAZ, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) — At least 11 family members were killed and three others injured on Monday in a crash involving a minibus on a highway in eastern Bolivia, police said.

Local media reported that the accident occurred on the Bioceanic Highway, between the cities of Puerto Suarez and Puerto Quijarro in the department of Santa Cruz.

According to Santa Cruz Traffic Director Martin Arequipa, a preliminary investigation revealed that a minor was driving a vehicle returning from a family party and was speeding. The minibus lost control and crashed into the shoulder of the road.
