BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday called for efforts to ensure a solid start to the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030).

Almaty, January 20 (Xinhua) — Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed establishing the position of vice president at a meeting of the National Kurultai on Tuesday.

As K.-Zh. Tokayev clarified, the vice president will be appointed by the head of state with the consent of parliament by a simple majority vote, and the president will determine the scope of his or her powers. Beijing, January 20 (Xinhua) — China has decided to nominate Xiamen to host the Secretariat of the Agreement on Marine Biological Diversity Beyond National Jurisdiction and informed the UN Secretary-General of the decision on January 16, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun announced on Tuesday.
