Tehran/Kyiv, March 28 /Xinhua/ — Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Saturday said it destroyed a warehouse of Ukrainian anti-drone systems in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) that were used to assist US forces.

Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces' Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters, reported that a joint operation by the IRGC air and naval forces in Dubai destroyed a warehouse housing Ukrainian anti-drone systems, along with 21 Ukrainians.

TAIYUAN, March 28 (Xinhua) — One person was killed and 25 others were injured, seven of whom are in critical condition, in a fire that broke out in a high-rise building in Taiyuan, north China's Shanxi Province, on Saturday, local authorities said.

According to sources in the Taiyuan city government, the fire broke out at around 8:00 pm local time in the Xiaodian district.

The open flames have now been extinguished. Firefighters are conducting search and rescue operations inside the building.

Beirut, March 28 (Xinhua) — Four people, including three journalists, were killed around midday on Saturday when an Israeli airstrike hit a car in the Jezzine district of southern Lebanon, Lebanese officials said.

The dead journalists were identified as Al-Manar TV correspondent Ali Shuaib, Al-Mayadeen TV reporter Fatima Ftuni and cameraman Mohammad Ftuni.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the attack, calling it a grave violation of international humanitarian law. Kinshasa, March 28 (Xinhua) — At least nine people were killed and 12 others injured in a mine collapse in the Rubaya mining region of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), local media reported Saturday, following a series of recent deadly accidents in the region.

According to local media, the incident occurred on March 27 at the Gasasa mining site in the Rubaya district, where two shafts suddenly collapsed while artisanal miners were descending into underground galleries to extract minerals. Local sources say some of the injured are in critical condition.

Rescue efforts are hampered by unstable ground and a lack of necessary equipment, a common problem in artisanal mining areas where safety standards are often minimal.

Since 2024, the Rubaya mining region has been under the control of the rebel group March 23 Movement (M23). Last November, DRC authorities designated the region a "red zone," officially banning mining and mineral trading there.

Athens, March 28 (Xinhua) – Twenty-two people died after a boat carrying migrants drifted for several days at sea off the Greek island of Crete, the Greek Coast Guard reported on Saturday.

According to the agency's press release, 26 survivors who had sent out a distress call were rescued near the island on March 26. The survivors reported that 22 people died en route from Libya due to lack of food and water.

BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhua) — Since the launch of independent customs operations throughout Hainan Island on December 18 last year, the Hainan Free Trade Port (HFTP) has begun to tangibly show the fruits of institutional openness, giving new impetus to global trade and investment.

The results of the world's youngest and largest free port, located in the island province of Hainan in southern China, are already evident. BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhua) — The China Manned Space Administration (CMSA) announced that it will start accepting proposals from April 1 for a human space exploration program aimed at addressing critical strategic, fundamental, and advanced scientific challenges such as ensuring long-term healthy human existence during future space station and lunar landing missions.

This program aims to create an atlas of the human body in space, build a database of human body research in space, and obtain a number of innovative scientific results that could benefit both the health of astronauts on long-term orbital flights and the population of Earth.

URUMQI, March 28 (Xinhua) — A container truck with TIR (Transport International Road) marking left the Irkeshtam Port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Friday, marking the successful completion of China's first international transport operation under the TIR multimodal transport scheme.

This shipment of loaded goods, consisting of 32 packages of Chinese-made auto parts, was dispatched on March 16 from Xianyang International Airport in Xi'an. It was then transported by rail from Xi'an to Kashgar, then transited via TIR through the Irkeshtam border crossing, and will ultimately be delivered to Uzbekistan. The entire journey from dispatch to departure took 11 days, which is 3-5 days faster than traditional shipping.
