Ürümqi, March 2 (Xinhua) — On March 1, the Horgos Port of Xinjiang, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, launched its first express border inspection channel at all Xinjiang vehicle ports. Baghdad, March 1 (Xinhua) — An Iraqi Shiite militant group on Sunday claimed responsibility for missile and drone attacks on military bases in Erbil province of the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region in northern Iraq where US forces are stationed.

In two separate statements, a pro-Iranian group calling itself Saraya Awliya al-Dam (Guardians of the Blood Units) and affiliated with Iraqi armed groups within the Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI), said the attacks were carried out in retaliation for the assassination of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and in solidarity with Tehran.
