BEIJING, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) — Chinese lawmakers on Saturday voted to approve amendments to the Civil Aviation Law.

The revised law, which was adopted at a session of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), will take effect on July 1, 2026.

RIYADH, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) — The Saudi-Chinese Common Ground cultural festival opened in Riyadh this week, capping a year-long initiative aimed at strengthening ties between the two countries through art, technology and cultural heritage.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) — Former Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak was sentenced on Friday to 15 years in prison on all four counts of abuse of power in a case related to state sovereign wealth fund 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad).

BEIJING, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) — Of the four mice that participated in the recent mission aboard the Chinese space station, one female successfully gave birth to healthy offspring on Earth, according to the Center for Space Utilization (CSU) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
