Russia has launched the first mass production of key equipment for mobile communications and internet – domestically produced carrier-grade base stations. Yadro launched the production line at its full-cycle plant in Dubna. Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Government Staff Dmitry Grigorenko visited the facility.

The launch of domestic base station production is a key step toward the country's technological independence and ensuring citizens have stable access to digital services. Base stations connect subscribers' phones and tablets to the operator's backbone network, receiving signals from the device and transmitting them to the operator's network and back.

To equip Russia's telecommunications infrastructure with domestically produced equipment, the national "Data Economy" project requires the production and installation of 75,000 base stations by 2030. Yadro plans to supply 55,000 base stations to the three leading telecom operators by this date, thereby meeting 75% of market demand. By the end of 2025, 3,000 base stations will be supplied to mobile operators Beeline, MegaFon, and T2.

Yadro successfully launched serial production of base stations in a record-breaking three years. Previously, the fastest launch of modern telecommunications equipment was in China, where the entire development-to-production cycle took 10 years. The rapid launch of Russian production was facilitated, in part, by the forward contract mechanism offered by the government. This allowed the manufacturer to sign contracts with telecom operators in advance as early as 2022 to guarantee demand and align delivery plans with the production cycle.

The development and implementation of domestic base stations is also carried out in close cooperation with telecom operators, taking into account current market demands. Approximately 6,000 operator requirements were taken into account during equipment development. Specifically, domestic stations support modern global communications standards—LTE and 5G technology, which can be activated by telecom operators through a software update without replacing the hardware. The telecom equipment is adapted for a variety of operational scenarios, from large cities to remote areas.

"The launch of domestic base station production allows us to take a significant step toward technological independence. There are fewer than a dozen base station manufacturers worldwide. Previously, we had to import telecom equipment. This meant dependence on supplies and prices from foreign manufacturers. I would like to point out that the transition to domestic base stations was supported by the Russian telecom market. In fact, production itself was launched at the request of telecom operators and with their requirements in mind. Thanks to forward contracts, we were able not only to quickly establish serial production but also to meet the projected demand for domestic base stations," noted Dmitry Grigorenko.

Yadro's plant is the largest full-cycle manufacturing facility in Eastern Europe, supporting import substitution for all base station assembly technologies. Specifically, the facility manufactures and assembles printed circuit boards, manufactures and assembles electronic modules, configures and assembles telecommunications equipment, performs automated testing, and prepares it for shipment.

Marat Khusnullin: The first rental home under the presidential program has begun to be occupied in the Amur Region.

Residents have begun moving into the first building in the Blagoveshchensk District of the Amur Region, built under the "Affordable Rental Housing in the Far Eastern Federal District and the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation" program. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin announced this.

"With the country's pivot to the East and the current geopolitical situation, the development of the Far East has become a priority for the country. Creating modern and comfortable living conditions for people is a key focus of this work. This is facilitated, among other things, by the rental housing program, which is being implemented at the President's initiative. It addresses two important objectives: it improves people's living conditions and creates a reliable foundation for attracting and retaining professionals in the region. The new apartments are primarily intended for workers in the social sector—education, healthcare, science, culture, and sports. The first tenants in the Amur Region will be 92 families, who will receive the keys to ready-to-move-in apartments. In total, approximately 2,500 rental apartments are planned for the region as part of the presidential program," said Marat Khusnullin.

The total area of apartments in the new residential complex in the village of Chigiri near Blagoveshchensk is 5,400 square meters. The building was built with project financing from DOM.RF Bank.

"Thanks to the support of the Russian Government, a federal rental housing construction program is being implemented in the Amur Region. By 2027, 2,470 apartments will be available for subsidized rental in Blagoveshchensk, Belogorsk, the Oktyabrsky District, and the village of Chigiri. Housing under this program is being rented to teachers, doctors, police officers, young professionals, large families, and other categories of citizens. We hope that the program's implementation will help retain specialists in the region and attract new promising talent who will contribute to the region's further development," noted Amur Region Governor Vasily Orlov.

The "Affordable Rental Housing in the Far Eastern Federal District and the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation" program was launched at the initiative of the President and is being implemented by DOM.RF in collaboration with the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Construction, regions, and developers. The Russian government has allocated 87 billion rubles for this purpose. Thanks to special financing conditions and subsidies from the federal and regional budgets, the monthly rental rate is approximately one-quarter of the market average.

"The President's goal is to create at least 10,000 modern rental apartments in the Far East. This is a major step toward attracting new talent to the region and reducing the outflow of qualified specialists. As the program operator, DOM.RF has already financed the construction of approximately 11,700 apartments, with a total floor area of over 0.5 million square meters. With our participation, we plan to commission the majority of the buildings by 2026," said DOM.RF CEO Vitaly Mutko.

The RAW 2025 scientific and practical conference "Robots, Additive Manufacturing, and Welding" was held at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The event was organized by the Lightweight Materials and Structures Laboratory with the support of its partners, TECHLAB and Robowizard.

Over the course of two days, participants discussed current issues at the intersection of science and industry. The conference program was quite comprehensive.

A day of expert presentations on innovations, real-world implementation cases, and support measures in robotics, additive manufacturing, and welding. A practical day included a demonstration of equipment and developments in the university laboratory. Participants observed the metal growth process, robotic welding, laser technologies, and even had the opportunity to process metal using ablation. A poster session featured students from SPbPU, NUST MISIS, and Xi'an University of Technology presenting their research projects.

The conference provided experts from industrial companies, researchers, and students with a platform for professional dialogue and exchange of experiences.

The RAW conference demonstrated that the fastest path from idea to implementation is through direct collaboration between universities and industry, where the former create new technologies and supply personnel, and the latter set ambitious goals.

"We are pleasantly surprised by such increased interest in the developments of the Lightweight Materials and Structures Laboratory, part of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Materials, and Transport," said Anton Naumov, Deputy Director of IMMiT. "I want to highlight the uniqueness of this event! Firstly, we witnessed the birth of a new large-scale RAW conference, which we plan to hold regularly. Secondly, the conference combined science and industry—the first day was devoted to plenary and poster presentations, and on the second day, participants were introduced to the laboratory's and our partners' developments, held master classes, and demonstrated the implementation of technological processes on equipment. Thirdly, this conference not only brought together students, researchers, and company directors from various cities across Russia, but also became international. Students from Xi'an University of Technology, who came to IMMiT for an internship, presented their poster presentations. This is an excellent start for the RAW scientific and practical conference!"

This was our first experience organizing a conference and practical seminar. We tried to address the most pressing issues: financing, production and design challenges, visions for future results, and working with modern equipment. Together with our participants, we found answers to many questions. Therefore, I consider the RAW 2025 conference a success. See you next year! said Oleg Panchenko, Associate Professor at the Higher School of Physics and Metallurgy and Head of the Lightweight Materials and Structures Laboratory.

Mikhail Poltev, a master's student in Information Security at RUDN University, took third place in the Volga-IT'2025 International Digital Olympiad in Telecommunications and Information Security.

The competition has been held regularly since 2006, and this year marks its 16th edition. It is open to schoolchildren and students aged 16 to 23 from Russia and other countries. In the finals, they complete tasks based on real IT company cases.

Over 4,000 applications were submitted to the qualifying round of the competition this year, but only the top 100 made it to the in-person competition. The Olympiad covers nine disciplines and consists of three stages. The first is testing.

"The testing was easy; they asked simple questions about information security. I actually prepared for the competition by completing tasks from previous years and tasks on specialized websites like TryHackMy," said Mikhail Poltev.

The second stage was much more challenging and extensive. The student had to complete five tasks of varying difficulty in a month. For example, one task stated: "I once participated in a creative design competition for the website of the President of the Russian Federation, but no one liked my design. I want to find out who the people who served on the jury were." The Olympiad participant had to provide the first and last names of the jury members in their answer. Another challenge required the student to figure out the extension of an attached file, parse protocols, find the required protocol bundle, open a telephony system, find packets of jokes, and ultimately play the required sound in reverse.

"In the finals, they prepared a penetration test for us, setting up rigs where we searched for vulnerabilities. There were two operating systems: Linux and Windows. Finding almost all the flags (secret character strings) on Linux secured me third place in the competition," says Mikhail Poltev.

In addition to the challenges, during the in-person stage of the competition, participants will have the opportunity to interact with experts and attend master classes led by IT company employees.

"It was great to talk with representatives of the final task developer, Alingi (a leading developer of software for automating quality management processes). They were able to clarify all the details, and in the end, we fully developed the 'ideal' solution. The most valuable experience from participating in the Olympiad was that I tested my knowledge and skills in practice. This is my first final in the field of information security, and I want to continue participating in such competitions and achieving high results," says Mikhail Poltev.

The priceless Elena Alexandrovna was (a terrible word) my shining spot on the philological planet, shining with rare beauty and clarity of mind, encompassing in her work not only rigorous typology and methods but also the spirit of a contemporary—the discourse of cinema and the language of painting. Elena Alexandrovna's thought always called for dialogue, for it contained something phenomenal: the inner light of her teachers' understanding and the outer light of a noble and warm attitude toward students, friends, and loved ones—attention to everyone who came into contact with her, even for a moment. Endless valuable pages not only of scholarly and academic works, but also of reviews, edits, opposing views, and translations. A creative philologist, she left unfinished her final work on the ascent of grammar to the pinnacle of culture—language in man. The loss of a noble and worthy person, his untimely death, is not only a personal loss but also a loss for all humanity. The sorrow is immeasurable, the grief is inconsolable, the memory is eternal and bright – to a bright man, scientist and friend.
