100% to health: the first students and staff of the State University of Management have already received the flu shot.

On September 19, the State University of Management conducted the first wave of seasonal influenza vaccinations for students and staff.

A dedicated team of doctors was stationed at the GUU dormitory so that those wishing to undergo the procedure could do so in a familiar and comfortable environment.

Yulia Larina, Chief State Sanitary Doctor for the South-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow, and her deputy, Olga Shevelkina, visited our university to assess the organization of the event and the preventive measures against seasonal infections. Along with Dmitry Bryukhanov, Acting Rector of the State University of Management, and Vitaly Lapshenkov, Vice Rector of the State University of Management, the guests visited the vaccination room, where they observed the procedure. Representatives of the rector's office were the first to receive the vaccine, demonstrating by example that vaccination is nothing to be afraid of.

"Traditionally, the fall period is associated with a surge in illnesses. Our students come from different regions, and everyone is placed in a new group. Some get sick more often than others, but all of this impacts their academic performance. We care about the health of our students and offer them voluntary and free vaccinations. They don't have to travel anywhere; they can simply come down to the first floor of the dormitory," said Dmitry Bryukhanov.

Next, representatives from Rospotrebnadzor and the rector's office of the State University of Management walked around the university grounds and watched informational videos about the benefits of getting a timely flu shot, which are shown on digital screens in all academic buildings of the first administrative building.

"We come to the State University of Management every year to administer vaccinations before the seasonal surge in flu and acute respiratory viral infections. Students actively get vaccinated to successfully pass their exams and attend classes. It's important to note that the incidence rate directly depends on the number of people vaccinated. If more than 75% of a group, department, or any association is vaccinated, herd immunity is achieved, and we see fewer cases," Yulia Larina recalled.

If you missed your vaccination today, you'll have another opportunity to get vaccinated on September 26 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the first floor of Dormitory No. 2. To participate, you'll need a passport, insurance policy, and parental permission for those under 18.

Come to protect your health.

The lecture was organized at the initiative of the Department of Economic Policy and Economic Measurement. Department Head and RAS Academician Sergei Glazyev delivered a welcome message to the event's participants, delivered by his deputy, Artem Savostitsky.

In her speech, Altynai Omurbekova outlined key trends in the development of the EAEU's single labor market, emphasizing the importance of overcoming legal and social barriers, expanding mechanisms for social protection of workers, and implementing digital solutions to simplify the registration of migrants. The speaker focused on the prospects for mutual recognition of qualifications and the development of a specialist mobility system within the Union.

Master's students from the "Economics of Integration Processes in the EAEU" program actively participated in the discussion, asking questions about barriers to labor migration, the future of digital employee profiles, and opportunities for young professionals within the Union.

The role of the Eurasian Network University (ENU) as a platform for expanding academic and professional mobility was particularly emphasized. Importantly, the State University of Management heads the ENU Secretariat, enabling the university to play a key role in developing educational and scientific ties between EAEU countries.

The lecture generated considerable interest among students and faculty at the State University of Management, demonstrating the importance of collaboration between the academic community and EAEU institutions in developing solutions for the formation of a single labor market and strengthening the human resources potential of the Union's countries.

In 2025, the Polytechnic University's Open Education Center celebrates its 10th anniversary. The journey from the first experiments with posting educational materials on a website to the creation of a full-fledged digital educational environment, "Open Polytechnic," and the launch of over 150 online courses on the national platform was both challenging and rewarding. Svetlana Kalmykova, head of the Open Education Center, spoke with the newspaper "Polytechnic" about the origins and success of distance learning at the Polytechnic University, and the projects that have become the Center's key focus.

This interview is both a look into the past and a conversation about the future, but most importantly, it is the story of Svetlana Vladimirovna herself.– a person for whom education has become a matter of life.

New Horizons in Political Science: Vietnamese State University of Management (GUU) PhD Students Successfully Defend Their Dissertations

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Official website of the State –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

On September 15, two young scientists from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam defended their dissertations at the National University of Management, a graduate school. The defense took place at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.

Tu Thi Thoa submitted a paper titled "Problems of Building a Democratic Society in the Context of a Single-Party System in Contemporary Vietnam" for the degree of Candidate of Political Sciences in the specialty 5.5.2 "Political Institutions, Processes, and Technologies," while Nguyen Duc Cuong prepared a research paper titled "Renewal of the Political System in the Context of Ensuring Political Stability in Contemporary Vietnam." Both dissertations were completed in the graduate program of the State University of Management (SUM) in the Department of Public Administration and Political Technologies. Their supervisor was Vladimir Volokh, Doctor of Political Sciences and Professor of the Department.

Leading experts in political science and the study of contemporary political processes participated in the work of the Dissertation Council of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).

Official reviewers provided positive feedback, noting that the research was conducted at a high scientific, methodological, and practical level. The comments by V.Yu. Ledeneva, I.S. Amiantova, and S.A. Stepanov, as the scientists themselves emphasize, are merely recommendations and do not affect the overall results or quality of the presented work.

The assessments of the chair and members of the dissertation council were also positive. During the academic discussion, it was noted that Vietnam, with its unique historical and political trajectory, is of particular interest for political science analysis. In the context of global transformations and regional challenges, such as the growing influence of major powers in Southeast Asia, geopolitical tensions in the South China Sea, and growing interdependence on global markets, maintaining domestic political stability has become a paramount task. Vietnam, while maintaining a socialist system and the Communist Party's monopoly on power, simultaneously demonstrates a desire for modernization and integration into the global community. Under these circumstances, the key question is how democratic institutions and practices can be formed and developed within a single-party system.

The candidates successfully answered questions from the dissertation committee members and official opponents, formulating their own vision for the development of democratic institutions in modern Vietnam. Following their defenses, the assembled panel unanimously voted to award the PhD degree in political science to Tu Thi Thoa and Nguyen Duc Cuong in the specialty 5.5.2 "Political Institutions, Processes, and Technologies."

We wholeheartedly congratulate the young scientists and wish them further success and creative growth.
