The 21st plenary session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan was held in Moscow, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin and Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko attended the ceremonial opening of a Buddhist Sunday school. It will operate at the renovated Kalmyk National Gymnasium in Elista.

"Today is a wonderful, historic day. A Buddhist school is opening at the Kalmykia National Gymnasium, which was renovated thanks to the "Youth and Children" national project, offering supplementary education. The Deputy Prime Minister attended a celebratory performance by the school's students, toured the school's themed museum exhibit dedicated to the history of Buddhism, and left a symbolic wish for prosperity and success for future generations on the school tree.

Dmitry Chernyshenko assessed the infrastructure of the first phygital center in the Southern Federal District. The center opened in September 2024 as part of the federal project "Business Sprint." Since then, more than 50 phygital and eSports events have been held, and over the past year, over 12,000 people have participated in the center's events.

At the B.B. Gorodovikov Youth Center, which was renovated in 2024, the Deputy Prime Minister met with activists of youth projects and programs, volunteers, members of the "Movement of the First," and representatives of the "Voin" center. The facility, which covers over 1,200 square meters, houses the Republican Youth Center, the regional headquarters of the "Movement of the First," the "Khamdan" association, and a branch of the "Volunteers of Victory."

Dmitry Chernyshenko thanked the volunteers who assist the SVO participants and participate in organizing and holding the International Buddhist Forum. He was also shown the office-museum of Hero of the Soviet Union Basan Gorodovikov, after whom the center is named.

On the topic of sports, Dmitry Chernyshenko reported that a government commission is preparing a rating to assess the effectiveness of regions in sports.

"Kalmykia has always demonstrated excellence in this area. By the end of 2024, your citizen participation rate in regular sports was 58%," he added.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed special gratitude for the work of the phygital center.

"Following President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin's instructions, we are implementing the national project 'Youth and Children' starting this year. The head of state has set a national goal: realizing the potential of every individual, developing their talents, and raising patriotic citizens. One of the key objectives is creating educational infrastructure. More than 3,000 new places have been created in schools and kindergartens in the republic, and 57 schools have been renovated. More than 16,000 students are currently studying at colleges and universities in the region. Gorodovikov Kalmyk State University is part of the 'Priority 2030' program," emphasized Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He instructed the region to focus on engaging educational institutions in more actively implementing federal measures, including the "Professionalism" federal project.

"Youth laboratories are active—three projects are launching this year. They are receiving support from the Russian Science Foundation. Dmitry Chernyshenko also emphasized that, thanks to victories in the "Region for the Young" competition, the region received approximately 300 million rubles for the renovation and equipping of youth spaces.

Volunteerism is growing in the republic: approximately 13,000 young people are already involved. For example, volunteers regularly send humanitarian aid to soldiers in the special military operation zone.
