From October 28 to 31, the international youth project laboratory BRICS Project Lab – Minsk was held in Minsk. It was organized by the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Belarus jointly with the NSO MGIMO and the Belarusian State University with the support of the A.M. Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.

The laboratory brought together undergraduate and graduate students, and young scientists from Russia, Belarus, and the BRICS countries to develop practical projects aimed at advancing international cooperation. From over a thousand applications, the organizers selected approximately one hundred participants. The competition's difficulty is comparable to that of applying for a scholarship to MGIMO.

Mikhail Krikunov, a master's student at the Faculty of Information Technology and an assistant at the Department of Informatics Systems at NSU, was one of the Russian representatives among the finalists.

"I submitted my application in September, went through an interview, and received confirmation of my participation in early October. The lab isn't just a forum, but a platform where young researchers work on real projects at the request of government and international organizations," says Mikhail.

He and his teammates participated in the track "Current State of the Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, and IT Markets in the Republic of Belarus," which was developed in partnership with the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in Belarus. The work began online in October: the team analyzed the market, studied product certification and registration processes, and systematized data on preferences and growth opportunities in the pharmaceutical and IT sectors.

"The in-person stage in Minsk was a logical continuation of the project. We participated in consultations with experts, met with representatives of the Trade Mission and lawyers to clarify details and finalize the study. Ultimately, we prepared over a hundred pages of analytical materials, which we submitted to Yuri Vasilyevich Zolotarev, the Russian Trade Representative in Belarus. He highly praised our work and noted that the results would be forwarded to the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade," Mikhail shares.

According to the participant, the eventful program included lectures, meetings, discussion platforms, and a cultural component: students visited the Russian Embassy in Belarus, the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union, the Minsk City Technopark, and saw the city's landmarks.

"I'm happy to have seen the heroic city of Minsk, to have contributed to strengthening trade relations between Russia and Belarus, to have met a huge number of smart and kind people, professionals in their fields, ready to move forward no matter what, and to have made friends in my teammates. I hope this project lab will become a starting point for our team's future work on other projects," Mikhail concludes.

In the near future, the team plans to continue the research in the form of a scientific paper and publish its results.

On Sunday, November 16, the Zelenograd Cultural Center will host its traditional adoption show, "Looking for a Friend." More than 20 cats and several puppies from the Zoorassvet and Zelenograd shelters (Dorinvest State Budgetary Institution) will be waiting for a new family.

Dorinvest specialists will advise prospective owners on the age, personality, and characteristics of each animal, provide care recommendations, and explain how to become a shelter volunteer.

Visitors will be able to interact with the animals, pet them, hold them, and, most importantly, give a home to someone who finds a response in their heart.

Residents who decide to adopt a pet will be interviewed. Based on this interview, specialists and volunteers will decide whether to hand over the animal. A responsible care agreement will be signed with the new owners.

You can meet four-legged friends during visiting hours or through the new "Mospitometz" service, which contains profiles of dogs and cats from all shelters. The website offers a filtered search: you can select the animal's species, age, gender, color, and even coat length. The supplier portal's trading bot has helped close nearly 240,000 contracts in three years.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Moscow Government – Moscow Government –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Over three years, approximately 240,000 transactions have been concluded on the Moscow supplier portal following quotation sessions using an automated bidding bot. By lowering the starting price at auctions, customers saved 13.5 billion rubles, according to Maria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.

"In the fall of 2022, an automated bidding bot was introduced on the supplier portal, allowing entrepreneurs to participate in multiple bidding sessions simultaneously. This saves them time and helps maintain a high level of competition. Over the three years since the trading bot was launched, over 237,000 contracts worth over 44 billion rubles have been concluded as a result of these sessions. Almost a quarter of the total procurement value—10.4 billion—was for construction, information technology, and household goods. By reducing the starting price, customers saved 13.5 billion rubles," emphasized Maria Bagreeva.

The trading bot automates the procurement process by placing bids automatically until it reaches the minimum price set by the supplier before the auction begins. This allows entrepreneurs to participate in multiple bidding sessions simultaneously. Before the session begins, participants must set the minimum price at which they are willing to enter into a contract.

"Over the first three quarters of 2025, the trading bot was used to conclude 66,300 contracts. Their volume exceeded the same period last year by 15 percent, reaching 10.6 billion rubles. Savings amounted to 3.6 billion rubles. Suppliers from Moscow, the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, the Ryazan Region, and the Perm Krai were the most active users of the bot, accounting for 78 percent of the total transaction volume," noted the head of the Moscow Department of Competition Policy.

Kirill Purtov.

Quotation sessions are a form of procurement, mini-auctions that last for three, six, or 24 hours. During these sessions, suppliers compete with each other, gradually lowering the starting price of the contract. Thanks to such rapid transactions, entrepreneurs can quickly conclude contracts and make a profit, and customers can purchase the necessary products at a favorable price.

In the capital Department of Information Technology They noted that the automated bidding bot is a reliable assistant for users: it streamlines competitive bidding processes, saves resources, and helps attract more suppliers to the portal. Furthermore, the service can be used from anywhere in the country, allowing entrepreneurs to enter the interregional market and increase sales.

Supplier portal Created in 2013 to automate small-volume procurement, the platform offers over 3.2 million unique goods, works, and services. Approximately 1,500 contracts are concluded on the platform daily.

City services specialists adjusted the heating system according to the weather, according to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Public Works. Petr Biryukov.

The operating modes of the district heating system are selected based on the outside air temperature. Changes are scheduled in advance based on a short-term weather forecast. Heat output is regulated by two main parameters: decreasing or increasing the coolant temperature and increasing or decreasing its volume.

The adjustments are carried out automatically under the control of the Moscow United Energy Company's dispatch services, taking into account readings from temperature sensors and dispatching systems, including those located at heating stations.
