The residential complex is located at the following address: Nikitina Street, Building 9, Buildings 1 and 2.

"A new building, covering over 45,000 square meters, was built in the Filimonkovsky district under the renovation program. It contains 498 apartments, five of which are accessible to people with disabilities. The ground floors are designed to accommodate amenities, and the surrounding area has undergone comprehensive landscaping: trees and shrubs have been planted, two playgrounds, one sports field, and two quiet recreation areas have been created. Public transportation stops are nearby, providing easy access to the Filatov Lug metro station. Kindergartens and schools, medical facilities, and shopping centers are all within walking distance," said Vladislav Ovchinsky.

The new building features 16 elevators and a barrier-free environment: the path from the courtyard to the apartment is free of obstacles such as high thresholds, steps, and narrow passages.

"Mosgosstroynadzor supervised the construction of the buildings at all stages—a total of nine on-site inspections were conducted. A new method for charging electric buses is being tested in the capital.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Moscow Government – Moscow Government –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Mosgortrans has begun testing a charging station with an inverted pantograph. This innovative equipment is planned to be used to charge future electric buses, according to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Maxim Liksutov.

The capital continues to develop its ground transportation network. Comfortable and safe electric buses transport passengers not only to metro stations but also to social, cultural, and sports facilities. In 2025, the number of daily electric bus rides exceeded one million. To increase the number of electric vehicles on the roads, Moscow is installing ultra-fast charging stations (UFS).

"We are implementing cutting-edge technologies to improve transport efficiency and passenger service. We will test the UBZS with an inverted pantograph for three months. The trials will help us prepare for the new charging method for future electric buses. We continue to develop urban electric transport, as Sergei Sobyanin instructed," noted Maxim Liksutov.

For testing on the roof of an A5-generation electric bus, the conventional charging device was replaced with contact rails, and an inverted pantograph was installed on the charging mast instead of the current-transmitting device. The charging process now proceeds as follows: the electric bus approaches the station, the driver gives the command, and the pantograph lowers, connecting to the current-receiving rails on the bus's roof. The bus's batteries then begin charging.

The transition to an innovative method will simplify the design of future electric buses: they will no longer require complex moving devices on the roof to receive the charge. This will make vehicle production even more reliable.

Advantages of electric buses

Electric buses improve the city's environmental situation. Replacing one bus with an electric vehicle reduces carbon dioxide emissions by more than 60 tons per year. Furthermore, they operate smoothly and produce no noise or vibration, making the ride more enjoyable for passengers.

Moscow has been transitioning to electric transport since 2018, and from 2022, the capital will receive upgraded vehicles. The interior features adaptive lighting: after 2:00 PM, it changes from a cool to a warm hue. The front route indicator has been enlarged by 18 percent, making the number visible from a distance. An electric heater maintains a comfortable temperature without harming the environment. The range has almost doubled—from 40–50 to 80–90 kilometers—while the vehicle's weight remains the same.

Electric buses are currently serviced at 12 Mosgortrans sites. Last year, a new generation of KamAZ-52222 electric buses entered service on city routes. Their design was updated with passenger comfort in mind: the cabin layout was revised, the storage area was increased by 15 percent, carry-on storage was added, and the doors were redesigned. The climate control system has become even more efficient, and the doors now feature illuminated opening and closing indicators. Their appearance is even more in line with current global industrial design trends.

The cabin features USB ports for charging mobile devices and media screens displaying information about upcoming stops. Climate control maintains an optimal temperature, and targeted door opening buttons allow you to keep warm air in at each stop.

For passengers with limited mobility, there is a folding ramp, special seats, and driver call buttons. Fare can be paid using digital validators located near the doors.

Moscow's electric buses meet high safety and service standards. Their low floors, folding ramps, and driver-call buttons make them comfortable for passengers with limited mobility. A storage area can accommodate bicycles, strollers, or large luggage. To maintain a comfortable interior temperature, an air curtain automatically activates when the doors are opened. Passenger safety is ensured by video cameras installed inside and outside the vehicles.

The new electric buses are being designed based on operating experience with earlier models and passenger feedback. Moscow's order for new equipment supports employment in other regions and stimulates the development of domestic industry. With the new equipment deliveries and the development of charging infrastructure, the city will see even more electric bus routes.

Ruddy shelducks, owls, and peacocks: On Ornithologist Day, VDNKh invites you to get acquainted with its feathered inhabitants.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Moscow Government – Moscow Government –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

February 19th marks Ornithologist Day in Russia. The vast grounds of VDNKh are home to over 70 bird species, including those listed in the Red Book. The country's premier exhibition explains where to spot a wide variety of birds—from elegant shelducks to magnificent peacocks—and what to treat them with.

The main bird habitats at VDNKh are the Kamensky Ponds cascade, the Sheremetyevskaya oak grove, the aerial ecotrail, and Ostankino Park. Tits, crows, nuthatches, sparrows, pikas, magpies, and jays can be seen here at any time of year. Sparrowhawks and goshawks are also common in Ostankino Park. These birds of prey hunt small and medium-sized birds. They are most active during the day.

Keen observers might spot a long-eared owl in the oak grove. This species gets its name from the large tufts of feathers on its head. The bird can raise its "ears," lower them, or hold them flat against its head. Owls fly out to hunt at night and sleep during the day, hiding in tree branches and trying to remain inconspicuous. Incidentally, even at night, it's very difficult to spot an owl. Their soft feathers allow them to fly silently.

Mallards are the most common ducks seen near the VDNKh ponds. In winter, males develop a vibrant new color—an emerald head and neck. Females are more modest, with brown plumage. To woo a mate, males perform characteristic courtship dances. Mallards typically build nests on the ground by the end of April, and the first chicks hatch in May.

Another recognizable red-faced duck that has settled on Kamensky Ponds is the shelduck. During winter, shelducks gather in groups with other bird species, and when nesting, they form strong family groups.

Woodpeckers can also be spotted at VDNKh. These birds' plumage consists of a complex alternation of black and white patches and a red undertail. A key distinguishing feature of males is the red "cap" on the back of their heads. Woodpeckers feed on insects hidden under tree bark.

For a more detailed look at local birds, their habits, diet, and characteristics, check out the guidebook "VDNKh Bird Book." It's available atofficial website exhibitions.

Lard for tits, berries for bullfinches

Winter is a serious challenge for birds. Prolonged frosts, blizzards, and heavy snowfall make it significantly more difficult for birds to find food. During this time, they need to be fed. However, it's important to remember that birds should not be fed chips, fresh rye or white bread, millet, salted seeds, or sweet pastries. These foods can cause digestive upset, which can have serious consequences for their health.

It's best to fill bird feeders with unroasted sunflower seeds, fresh or dried fruits and berries, oatmeal, barley, and wheat grains. Sparrows will be especially pleased with sunflower seeds, oatmeal, or barley. Woodpeckers and jays will be attracted to nuts and acorns. Thrushes and bullfinches love dried rowan and hawthorn berries. And tits are known to love unsalted lard.

Treats for waterfowl, such as mallards and shelducks, are available from vending machines located near the Garden and Palace Ponds in Ostankino Park. This specialized food will benefit the feathered inhabitants of the country's main exhibition and help preserve the ecology of these water bodies.

Birds from the "City Farm"

The "City Farm" is now open at VDNKh—a family-friendly educational center where you can meet friendly feathered residents. It's home to various breeds of chickens, geese, and ducks, all of whom are completely unafraid of people.

Adults and children alike can watch chicken and duck eggs develop in an incubator—a special device designed to hatch tiny chicks and ducklings. A visit to the incubator is part of the "Young Farmer" program, which teaches participants about livestock farming, crop production, and creativity.

In the summer of 2025, new residents arrived here—two young Indian peafowl, a male and a female. Now they're adults, have adapted well to their new home, and delight visitors. Adult peafowl reach 80–100 centimeters in length and weigh four kilograms. These birds can fly up to three meters high and live for about 20 years. You can see these long-tailed beauties in the peacock house, located opposite the enclosure housing Skazka the reindeer.

Sergei Sobyanin: Moscow's transplant service is expanding its capabilities

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Moscow Government – Moscow Government –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Over the past five years, the volume of transplant surgeries in the capital has more than doubled. In 2025, 859 such procedures were performed, compared to 428 in 2020. Sergei Sobyanin announced this on his channel in MAX messenger.

"Now Muscovites receive life-saving treatment much faster. For example, the wait for a liver transplant is approximately five months, and for a kidney transplant, no more than a year. In other countries, this process can take three to five years. This breakthrough is the result of a huge, comprehensive effort to develop the city's healthcare system," the Moscow Mayor noted.

Source: Sergei Sobyanin's channel inMAX messenger

Thanks to the digitalization of the capital's healthcare system, data on potential donors is received in a timely manner, and the creation of leading transplant centers allows for the use of the latest development and innovation.

For example, the S.P. Botkin Moscow Multidisciplinary Scientific and Clinical Center (MMNCC) was the first in Russia to implement a unique method of normothermic ex vivo machine perfusion of donor kidneys. Organs previously considered unsuitable are now being used for transplantation. They were also the first in the country to begin performing minimally invasive correction of the consequences of severe liver cirrhosis, giving patients additional time to wait for a donor organ.

The N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care has developed a new pancreas transplant technique, allowing for more frequent pancreas and kidney transplants in a single operation.

"At the A.S. Loginov Moscow Clinical Research Center, using minimally invasive X-ray endovascular technologies and complex therapy, doctors stabilize the growth of an inoperable tumor and replace the organ with a donor one," added Sergei Sobyanin.

In addition, the capabilities of Moscow's transplant service are constantly expanding. For example, in June 2025, the Moscow Clinical Research Center (MCRC) Hospital 52 opened new branch organ and tissue transplantation.

Last year, work began in the structure of transplant centers – the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care and the A.S. Loginov Moscow Clinical Research Center outpatient centers for patients after organ transplants. Together with the existing centers at the Moscow Regional Scientific and Research Center "Hospital 52" and the S.P. Botkin Moscow Regional Medical Scientific and Research Center, they form a comprehensive framework for the city's outpatient post-transplant service.

Since 2018, more than 200 older buildings in the capital's Eastern Administrative District (VAO) have been resettled under the renovation program. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development Policy and Construction. Vladimir Efimov.

"Today, 208 of the 1,062 buildings included in the renovation program in the east of the capital have been resettled. Nearly 35,400 people have moved into new apartments with improved finishes. In the Eastern Administrative District, 68 modern residential complexes have been handed over to Muscovites for occupancy. For example, 13 new buildings have been completed in the Perovo district, and 11 in Severnoye Izmailovo. Another seven apartment buildings have begun to be occupied in the Kosino-Ukhtomsky and Bogorodskoye districts," said Vladimir Efimov.

Evacuated buildings are being dismantled using "smart demolition" technology, which involves dismantling buildings in an environmentally friendly and safe manner, and recycling construction waste.

"In the east of the capital, buildings in 12 districts have been resettled under the renovation program. Specifically, 38 buildings were vacated in Severnoye Izmailovo, and 35 in Izmailovo. Residents of another 31 older buildings have moved into new apartments in the Perovo district. To ensure the relocation process to new apartments is truly convenient for Moscow residents, the city is providing free movers and transportation. The "Moving Assistance" service can be ordered independently on the mos.ru portal or at resettlement information centers, which are located on the ground floors of new buildings," emphasized the Moscow Government Minister and Head of the Department of Urban Development Policy.
