The girls' team from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics took third place in the 3×3 basketball competition at the Novosibirsk Region Festival of Higher Education Institutions. This is a tremendous achievement – for the first time in many years, our basketball players have demonstrated such excellent results and placed in the top three.

The Novosibirsk Region Higher Education Institutions' Faculties Festival, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of NSTU-NETI, is being held for the first time this year as part of the "University League of Regions" project.

Its program included 10 sports: table tennis, futsal, chess, tug-of-war, athletics, swimming, men's and women's volleyball, and 3×3 basketball.

Our chess players won their first medals at NSU – the team from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics took 2nd place!

Armlifting is a relatively new strength sport where the main goal is to lift as much weight as possible with one arm.

The best results among young men of 2nd and 3rd years were shown by:

1st place – Ilya Trushkin (IIR), result 62.5 kg

2nd place – Vyacheslav Shevchenko (MMF), 52.5 kg

3rd place – Vladislav Agapchenko (FIT), 50 kg

The winners among first-year boys were:

Nearly 30 teams, including students, faculty, alumni, and guests from other universities, participated in the two-person cross-country relay. Each athlete ran two legs, approximately 2.4 km long, with 13 checkpoints. The newcomers had shorter distances – 1.7 km with 11 checkpoints. As always, the relay was exciting and engaging, and the competition was tense.

A group of archery enthusiasts recently began training thanks to the efforts of Michele Debrenne, a professor at the Humanities Institute. Six students have now competed in the Novosibirsk Region Championship and Junior Championship as part of the Arkadem club team. Our athletes competed in the classic bow and won three silver medals.

In the individual championship, Kirill Vanin (FIT) took 2nd place, and in the team competition, the prize winners were: Fedor Ostanin (FF) and Victoria Michurina (GGF).

The competition counts toward the Spartakiad among faculties, institutes, the Specialized Scientific Center, and the Higher Institute of Culture (VKI) and was held using the Olympic system. Pairs were determined by drawing lots and taking into account the previous year's results.
