Russian film companies became part of the Moscow charity project “City of the Caring”, together with which they held a film auction.

And of course, there were many film screenings, autograph sessions, meetings with stars and famous guests, including directors Woody Allen and Emir Kusturica.

Moscow International Film Week has ended. The largest cinematic event brought together about 200 events and more than 700 thousand guests. It is expected that next year it will be no less large-scale and memorable.

Sergei Sobyanin inspected the Moskino cinema park and met with directors and producers working on film sets.

Konstantin Ernst (who is filming the movie "Lilya"), Danila Sharapov ("Secret City"), Dmitry Kiselev ("Russian Troika"), Fyodor Bondarchuk ("Hard to Be a God"), Mikhail Vrubel ("Buratino"), Sergei Zhigunov ("Breed"), Leonid Vereshchagin ("Queen Anna"), Igor Ugolnikov (films about domestic wars of different times) told the Mayor of Moscow about their projects.

"Congratulations on your professional holiday – Russian Cinema Day. As a classic said, this is the most important of all arts. And I am very glad that it is demonstrating such a fantastic pace of development. In recent years, both the volume of content and the number of viewers who watch Russian cinema have simply increased several times. I think that this is the most important result of our work. It is clear that cinema today is not only entertainment: it is ideology, and education, and promotion, and therefore what you are doing is simply wonderful. I am very grateful to you, tens of thousands of cinema workers who produce and work on Russian cinema art," the Moscow Mayor noted.

Sergei Sobyanin emphasized that the city, for its part, is doing everything to ensure that Moscow confirms its status as the Russian capital of cinema and that it also becomes the capital of world cinema.

"At least the infrastructure that we are creating together is already world-class. Last year, Vladimir Vladimirovich and I opened the first stage of the park

"Moschino". I must report that in a year we have doubled the capacity of the Moskino sites. This is an opportunity to shoot amazing, unique films and TV series. In addition, you know that we are reviving the Gorky Studio. Enormous capital works are being carried out there. The volume of pavilions will double – these will be completely new, modern pavilions. The Moscow Film Factory, Moskino – is already a huge site with a large number of pavilions, which is developing dynamically," added Sergei Sobyanin.

For film industry professionals

The largest media groups in Russia are implementing their projects in the cinema park: National Media Group, Gazprom-Media Holding, USM Holdings, Channel One, All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, Sber.

"Thank you for creating this unprecedented platform at an absolutely global level. Moscow confirms yet another of its hypostases as a world leader, now in the field of film production. And thanks to Moskino, I think that Russian cinema will reach the next level of its development. This would be impossible without Moscow's help," said Konstantin Ernst.

The following series were filmed in the cinema park: Princess Olga, Arsenyev, Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears. It's Just Beginning, Admiral Kuznetsov, And in Our Yard – 3, GDR, Krasnov. New Episodes, At the Call of the Heart, The Enemy at the Gate, Drilling Rig, The Sovereign, Patriot-4, SMERSH-3. In addition, six pavilions and six infrastructure facilities were built.

Each of the sets is used by different film studios to implement a variety of projects. You can book the site online through Moscow Film Platform.

A natural chromakey has been created in the cinema park. It is needed for filming using computer graphics. If necessary, a Tu-154 aircraft can be installed here.

The immediate plans include completing the construction of at least 10 sets, including the Fortress, Cities of Eastern Europe, Fairytale City and others. In addition, the film park will build two more multifunctional pavilions with an area of 4.6 thousand square meters and a working ceiling height of up to 24 meters, as well as a warehouse complex, a multi-level parking lot and a hotel complex with more than 200 rooms.

For everyone who loves cinema

In addition to the filming infrastructure, the cinema park has created comfortable conditions for visitors and tourists. They can use the hotel and restaurant services, visit the museum and visit the festival sites. The cinema park is open to everyone on weekends and holidays. Thematic excursions and quests are held for guests as part of the "Cinema Weekend" project. Visitors can inspect the scenery if they are not involved in the filming process at that time.

The Vadim Zadorozhny Museum of Technology is open – a unique combination of automobile history and cinematic heritage. Viewers can see more than 50 units of technology – these are cars that have become an integral part of Russian culture, as well as famous foreign models.

In 2024–2025, the cinema park hosted major events, including the festival of historical reconstructions “Times and Epochs”, the gastro festival “Golden Autumn”, Eduard Boyakov’s multimedia production “Cathedral Square”, Igor Ugolnikov’s immersive performance “Moscow Speaking! Battle for Moscow. First Victory”, the International Festival of Stunt Art, the Moscow Festival of Animation and Children’s Cinema, the music festivals “Straw” and “Ours in the City”, and other events.

Since its opening, over 530 thousand people have visited the cinema park on weekends and holidays.

Moscow Film Industry

There are more than 3.6 thousand film studios, production centers and media holdings operating in Moscow. Up to 90 percent of Russian content is produced in the capital.

After the departure of foreign giants in 2022, a vacuum appeared that domestic producers and online platforms began to fill. In total, during this period, the capital's film studios earned 342 billion rubles in revenue. Profit amounted to about 31 billion rubles.

The financial performance of Moscow film companies grew steadily from 2022 to 2024. During this period, their revenue almost doubled, and their profit more than doubled. The most successful year was 2024, which brought in 143 billion rubles in revenue and 14.7 billion rubles in profit. This is almost half of the combined figures for three years.

Thus, the market is successfully recovering from the introduction of sanctions and is showing steady growth.

The Moscow government is implementing a large-scale project, "Moscow — City of Cinema". It includes the modernization of existing facilities and the creation of new infrastructure, as well as the development of special services to increase the production of high-quality international-level film content.

More than 140 projects have already been filmed on the sites of the Moscow film cluster.

The Moscow film cluster includes:

— Moskino cinema park in TiNAO — a complex for outdoor location filming;

— Gorky Film Studio, which is currently experiencing a second birth;

— the Moskino film factory on Ryazansky Prospekt is a modern full-cycle film and media cluster;

— the Moskino cinema chain.

In addition, the cluster includes the Moskino digital film platform and the Moskino film commission.

Gorky Film Studio is one of the oldest Russian film companies. Many of its films have entered the golden collection of Russian and world cinema.

At the end of 2023, the film studio became the property of Moscow. The city decided to carry out a large-scale modernization of both its sites. As a result, the total area of the Gorky Film Studio will more than double – up to 100 thousand square meters. The main work is planned to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025.

A new studio and production complex is being built on the site at Valdaisky Proezd (building 16). It will house 10 modern technological filming pavilions, screening rooms, virtual set design studios, editing and color correction, motion capture, as well as dressing rooms and other necessary premises. The specifics of the pavilions with large-span structures up to 42 meters wide, 12 to 22 meters high and soundproofing provide ample opportunities for filming.

The new studio will include a visual technology center. It will specialize in providing a full range of video production services — from multi-camera shooting and color correction to 3D modeling and projects with virtual and augmented reality in 4K format. The center’s capabilities will allow for the production of content in real time and the creation of world-class projects.

Six new studios have opened on the historic site on Sergei Eisenstein Street. They are suitable for creating digital content and are therefore very popular among the blogging community. At the moment, the studios are 100 percent full. Two more digital studios will open at the end of 2025.

In addition, a virtual production pavilion, "55.8 Gorky Virtual Studio", has been opened. Thanks to unique technologies and large LED screens, it is possible to create content on any background and reduce filming time several times. The pavilion is currently located in the Moscow International Business Center "Moscow-City", but after the completion of the modernization of the historical site, the virtual studio is planned to be moved to one of the built filming complexes.

Since the Gorky Film Studio became the property of the Moscow Government, 20 films have already been shot there. Among them are the feature films Chizhik-Pyzhik Returns, How I Met Her Mother, Tour with Ivanushki, Vera, as well as the non-fiction films Gorbacheva, Territory of Attachment, and Through Dark Matter. More than 20 feature and non-fiction projects are at various stages of development and production.

In 2023, the Gorky Film Campus opened — a creative space for career guidance for children and teenagers in the field of cinema and media. The film campus is equipped with modern high-tech equipment, including a studio with a cyclorama and chromakey background, a sound recording studio, editing rooms, and a screening room.

The Moskino Film Factory is a large creative space on Ryazansky Prospekt. It is the first inter-industry center of full-cycle creative industries, uniting filmmakers, representatives of fashion, design, music and media, as well as IT specialists.

Currently, the film factory employs:

— four filming pavilions, allowing filming with construction to meet any request from film companies;

— two XR pavilions with the ability to shoot on LED screens with augmented reality technology;

— thematic pavilion "Police".

Soon, pavilions for free construction, with a cyclorama, as well as two pavilions with permanent interior decorations of a hospital and an apartment will be opened.

In addition, the Moskino film factory houses Europe's largest costume and props center, the Firebird. It supplies props for more than 80 percent of the country's filming projects.

In March 2025, the film factory presented a unique for Russia design of LED screens, or "washer", with an area of over 300 square meters. This allows creating unique scenes using virtual production technology and filming movies of any complexity directly in the pavilions.

With the participation of the Moskino film factory, 52 different format film projects have been implemented. Among them are The Last Bogatyr. Legacy, Chelyuskin. The First, The First Number, Sklif and Major Grom. In 2025, the filming of more than 70 projects is planned.

The Moskino Film Commission was created in 2018. Its main goal is to increase the presence of the capital, its streets, parks and cultural heritage sites on big screens, as well as to attract the attention of filmmakers to the infrastructure of the Moscow film cluster.

With the help of the Moskino film commission, producers receive permits to film in Moscow, including work on the street and road network. Since 2023, applications have been accepted only through the Moskino film platform. Producers can receive a filming permit within seven working days. It may take up to 50 working days to approve complex projects, including those using pyrotechnics, fake weapons, and special effects.

With the support of the Film Commission, more than a thousand projects were created in 2024–2025. Among them are the full-length films The Master and Margarita, Kholop-2, The Flying Ship, Ice-3, and the popular TV series Games, CyberVillage, Vampires of the Middle Lane, The Word of a Boy. Blood on the Asphalt, Kidney (second and third seasons), and Daddy's Daughters. New. In recent years, views of the capital have been filmed in such projects as At the Call of the Heart, Challenge, Actresses, and Knock on My Door.

One of the important areas of work of the capital's film commission is assistance in filming works by students of specialized universities. Among them are the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography named after S.A. Gerasimov, the Institute of Cinema and Television, the Moscow School of New Cinema, the S.F. Bondarchuk Film School, and the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors named after G.N. Daneliya. Thanks to the assistance of the film commission, more than 80 student works have been filmed since the beginning of 2025.

The Moskino cinema chain traces its history back to 1932, when by order of the presidiums of the Moscow City Executive Committee and the Moscow City Council, the Mosgorkino Moscow City Cinema Trust was formed.

Today, the Moskino network carries out cultural and educational activities. It provides viewers of all ages with the opportunity to watch not only entertaining films, but also art films, Soviet films and rare film classics on the big screen. In addition, the network supports capital film festivals and organizes its own events.

Currently, there are 15 cinemas in the Moskino network. Each of them has its own unique atmosphere and attracts movie lovers. In 2024–2025, the network will include the library with the Moskino Zhukovsky cinema hall, the Moskino Angara cinema in the Angara Meeting Place district center, and the Moskino Kinopark cinema in the Moskino Cinema Park in TiNAO.

New measures to support film producers

During a visit to the Moskino cinema park, Sergei Sobyanin announced a new measure of financial support for film producers.

"The city will also help the film industry financially – it will compensate up to 70 percent of the costs of advertising in the capital, up to five million rubles. Producers of films and cartoons for children and teenagers and authors of projects that reflect the traditional spiritual and moral values of our country can apply for this measure of support," he wrote in his channel in the messenger.

Asphalt in Volokolamsk tunnel has been renewed

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

City services specialists have replaced almost 40,000 square meters of asphalt in the Volokolamsk tunnel in the north of the capital. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Public Utilities and Improvement Petr Biryukov.

"Special attention is paid to maintaining the capital's roads in a standard condition. Every year, as part of preparation for the autumn-winter period, we organize events to renew the asphalt concrete pavement. We carried out repairs to the road surface in the Volokolamsk tunnel, in total we repaired about 40 thousand "squares" along the entire length of the structure, the length of which is more than 1.7 kilometers," said Pyotr Biryukov.

The road surface was last changed there in 2021. The repairs were necessary due to the formation of ruts, which could negatively affect road safety.

The work was carried out in several stages: first, the existing surface was milled, inspection wells and rainwater intake grates were repaired. Then a new road surface was laid, and road markings will be applied in the tunnel in the near future.

The tunnel's surface was repaired at night, when traffic was light, partially restricting traffic on the lanes.

More than 500 thousand people visited the "My District" sites at the "Moscow 2030" forum

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

During the first weeks of the forum "Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030", more than 500 thousand Muscovites and guests of the capital visited the sites of the Moscow Mayor's program "My District". And the 50th Anniversary of October Park became one of the most popular places where you can immerse yourself in all sorts of scenarios for the future of urban life.

Pavilions and podiums for master classes, educational, scientific, cultural and sports events aroused great interest among residents of all ages. The forum not only demonstrated the latest developments in robotics, artificial intelligence, transport, ecology and education, but also gave Muscovites the opportunity to see the future and how it is already manifested today.

The Cosmos Pavilion – a look into infinity

The most visited place on the site in the 50th Anniversary of October Park was the "Space" pavilion. It showcased models of spacecraft, multifunctional robots and unique digital installations. More than 24 thousand people, half of whom were children and teenagers, visited here, inspired by the possibilities that until recently seemed like science fiction.

"I grew up on 20th century science fiction books, and what is presented in the pavilion today are literally pages of those books brought to life. Robots that talk to children, explain complex things in simple words, portholes with views of asteroids and galaxies, the opportunity to swim on a SUP board under virtual comets – this is not a film prop, but an operating site in a Moscow park. It is amazing that children take all this for granted: for them, this is already a natural part of life," shared his impressions Nikolai, an engineer and father of two children.

Over 15,000 people tried out the unique river-shaped pool for SUP boarding and kayaking, located inside the pavilion. Over three thousand participants signed up for a tour about satellite data and neurogames. And the master class on controlling robotic dogs and anthropomorphic robots became one of the most popular, gathering over 14,000 people.

Schoolgirl Olya told how she controlled a robot dog after an interactive master class. At first she thought it would be like a computer game, but the device responded to movements, and Olya felt like a real engineer. Now she wants to study to be a programmer.

The Biom Pavilion – Harmony of Nature and Technology

The Biom pavilion is especially popular, where Muscovites come not only to learn something new, but also to relax. More than 20 thousand people, half of whom are children, have discovered its exhibits. Inside there are aquariums with ancient fish, snakes and lizards, hydroponic farms, dioramas with cosmic landscapes and a calming fountain system.

"I came here out of curiosity, just to look, but ended up spending more than two hours in the pavilion. I lingered by the aquariums because everything here is thought out: you can see not only familiar plants and animals, but also simulated life forms that could exist on other planets. For a biologist, this is a find – inspiration for research and ideas," said Maria, a student at the biology department of Lomonosov Moscow State University.

More than 10 thousand people were able to ride a SUP board or kayak — the water route runs through the pavilion, which in itself became an innovation for the city festival. Despite the high attendance, the atmosphere in "Biome" remains peaceful, because here digital solutions harmoniously combine with greenery and water. As one of the guests, Muscovite Alexander, noted, after the fascinating master classes and high-tech of other pavilions, "Biome" seemed like a place where you can stop and feel the silence. Thanks to the fountains and aquariums, you feel an amazing balance of nature and technology here.

Pavilion "Robotics" – technologies of the 21st century

If Biom attracts with its silence, then the Robotics pavilion in the 50th Anniversary of October Park has become a center of dynamics and energy. There is real excitement here: more than 22 thousand visitors, including over nine thousand children, witnessed outstanding demonstrations and participated in interactive lectures "Tesla Corner" and "Tesla Show" (they were visited by almost 20 thousand people).

According to Evgeny, a physics teacher from the Moscow region, seeing a Faraday cage in action and showing it to his students is worth a lot. Usually, teachers talk about electricity and plasma using slides, but here they felt the power of science themselves. After this, many schoolchildren may decide to study engineering.

A huge number of interesting master classes were held at special sites in the park, for example, on creating cartoons, biology, chemistry and even paleontology. In total, more than 13 thousand master classes have been held at the sites of the My District program since its launch, with over 307 thousand people taking part.

Sports innovations – from trapeze to wind tunnel

The sports facilities were no less impressive: a grand aerial trapeze, two wind tunnels, wakeboarding and yoga classes in hammocks.

Over 800 master classes were held on the trapeze, which had no analogues in the capital's public spaces, and more than three thousand people attended special training sessions.

Student Maxim shared his feelings: "At first it was scary, but when you get up and try to do your first trick, you forget about everything. It's a feeling of freedom and a future where sport is not just physical activity, but a real art."

Another unique sports facility, the wind tunnel in the 50th Anniversary of October Park, attracted about five thousand participants, including two thousand children, and allowed forum guests to experience the sensation of real weightlessness.

"I would never have jumped with a parachute, but thanks to the wind tunnel I still experienced what it means to fly. And it is safe. It is a democratic way to feel freedom," said Marina from Moscow.

The popularity of yoga classes in hammocks also exceeded all expectations. The training sessions delighted visitors. In total, more than 3.5 thousand people attended 600 master classes.

The importance of the forum

In just a few weeks, the forum "Territory of the Future. Moscow 2030" has proven that the capital can become not only a platform for the introduction of technologies, but also a place where they become part of the cultural experience and everyday life of city residents.

Today, Moscow has surpassed the predictions of 20th century futurologists in many ways. Delivery robots, artificial intelligence in healthcare, smart transport systems, VR and AR in education are already working here. To hold a business forum in a museum, to organize a business conference in a theater, to organize a meeting with key partners in an estate or at a stadium – this is a completely realistic plan for holding a corporate event in the capital. The city has many original, non-standard spaces that can become not only excellent venues for negotiations, seminars, product presentations, meetings with the business community, but also to make an indelible impression, to make each such event bright and memorable.

Business tourism is one of the most promising areas of the capital's hospitality industry. And Mosturism helps event organizers and representatives of unique spaces to work effectively in this direction. For this purpose, applications for an online course are open "Organization of MICE events for non-standard venues".

The new course will be useful for representatives of the capital's museums, art spaces, theaters, stadiums. This is a great opportunity to assess their own potential and find ways for additional monetization. Applications for participation are accepted on the portal "Russpass. Business".

The free online course is part of the Moscow School of Hospitality for Experts project.

During the training, representatives of the venues will be told how to create points of attraction for business events of different levels and scales, including international ones. They will receive applied knowledge and practical tools necessary for successful work in the MICE market.

The key advantage of the course is that the materials are developed taking into account the participants' requests and their level of training. Particular emphasis is placed on the practical focus of the program – the knowledge gained can be applied immediately from the first lessons.

Participants will hear speeches from MICE industry specialists: corporate and associate customers, experts in branding and promotion. Speakers will tell how to build a platform positioning, highlight competitive advantages, competently approach customer requests, determine the necessary resources and form an effective strategy for attracting and retaining partners. The course will feature real cases and speeches from representatives of successfully operating non-standard spaces, including the Moscow Planetarium, the Luzhniki Sports Complex and the Congress Center of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

The course "Organization of MICE events for non-standard venues" was launched on the basis of the "Moscow School of Hospitality" – an ecosystem of educational projects Mosturism, aimed at popularizing work in the industry, improving the quality of expertise of its representatives, as well as assisting in employment and finding employees in the industry. The Moscow School of Hospitality for Experts project is being implemented within the framework of the ecosystem. It helps industry representatives improve the level of service, develop professional and managerial competencies of employees, and adapt new personnel. The project includes nine free online courses that students take at any convenient time.

Earlier this summer, the Moscow School of Hospitality began accepting applications for the course "Organization of MICE Events." Its participants will learn about all stages of event preparation – from the idea to collecting guest feedback. Students will understand how to create and protect the concept of the event, build communication with clients, organize logistics, technical support of the event and document flow, and will also be able to structure work with risks.
