The interactive educational platform "House of Polymers" has started working in the Moscow Palace of Pioneers on Vorobyovy Gory. Here, schoolchildren will be able to learn more about modern chemistry and decide on their future profession. This was reported by the press service of the capital's Department of Education and Science.

The center of the site is occupied by an interactive exhibition. It shows how polymers are created, which are used in medicine, automobile manufacturing, agriculture, manufacturing of household goods and other areas. The exhibits show the full life cycle of materials – from production to recycling. This helps schoolchildren understand the principles of conscious consumption.

"We are glad that the Moscow Palace of Pioneers has become a platform for such an interesting project. Despite the fact that this educational space has just appeared here, it has already managed to attract the attention of children and adults. I am sure that such projects will further increase interest not only in a specific topic, but also in the development of science and the formation of the future of our country," said Elena Melvil, director of the Moscow Palace of Pioneers.

A special educational program has been developed for students in grades seven through nine as part of the project "School Day at the Museum." Schoolchildren will conduct chemical experiments, learn the basics of biochemistry, and learn to analyze the results of experiments. This approach allows them not only to gain knowledge, but also to see how it works in real life.

The first visitors to the new site were students of the Natural Science Vertical project from School No. 1514. The children assessed the exhibition, conducted chemical experiments and took part in a science quiz. In total, about 1.8 thousand schoolchildren will attend classes at the House of Polymers this academic year. In addition, more than six thousand pupils and 700 students will be able to visit the exhibition on excursions.

"What I liked most about the House of Polymers was the interactive zone, where you can see raw materials and learn about different ways of recycling plastic. It was also interesting to conduct experiments with polymers, which changed their properties right before your eyes. Before visiting the exhibition, I knew that gasoline is made from oil, but I had no idea that you can make literally everything from it – from plastic bottles to a sports jacket," said Veronika Krylova, a seventh-grader at School No. 1514.

Experts from the Institute for the Development of Profile Education of the Moscow City Pedagogical University and the Moscow Palace of Pioneers took part in developing the program of the study days. This made it possible to create a program that meets the standards of the capital's education and introduces advanced industry practices.

Previously, the polymer exposition created by the Sibur holding was located at VDNKh. It opened in 2023 as part of the International Exhibition and Forum "Russia". Now the pavilion on the Main Alley of the exhibition is closed for reconstruction, so for the time being the site was moved to the Moscow Palace of Pioneers.

As part of the project "School Day at the Museum", interactive classes on various subjects are organized at the museum sites of the capital. The school day consists of three to five lessons. They are taught by school teachers using materials developed by experts from the Institute for the Development of Profile Education of the Moscow City Pedagogical University, teachers and museum staff. Last academic year, more than 108 thousand students from 280 capital schools and colleges took part in the project.

Almost 5.5 thousand students will study medicine in Moscow colleges

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The capital's medical colleges have begun celebrating the White Coat Day holiday. This year, it will be attended by almost 5.5 thousand first-year students, which is 12 percent more than in 2024. In a festive atmosphere, the students put on coats symbolizing their entry into the professional community, and also accept congratulations from teachers and doctors of the city's leading hospitals. This was reported by the press service of the capital's Department of Education and Science.

Thus, in Medical College No. 1, celebrations were held both in the main building on Leninsky Prospekt and in branches on Ivanteyevskaya Street, Kashirskoye Shosse and Chuksin Tupik. First-year students took an oath, put on white coats to applause and received symbolic keys of knowledge. The festive program was supplemented by concert numbers and a tour of modern simulation rooms.

"A white coat for our first-year students is a symbol of trust and the first step into a professional future. From the very beginning of their studies, the students are immersed in work: they master modern technologies, learn from specialists from leading clinics in the capital. Such a start helps them quickly feel like real doctors, and the city gets trained and motivated specialists who can be trusted with the most important thing – people's health. Today, we see that more and more young Muscovites are consciously choosing a medical education: they understand that this profession will always be in demand and respected," said Angela Gekkieva, Director of Medical College No. 1.

In medical colleges No. 6 and 7, the holiday was combined with Knowledge Day. First-year students were presented with student cards and the main symbol of the profession — a white coat. In the St. Demetrius School of Sisters of Mercy, in addition to teachers, church representatives congratulated the children. They emphasized that the color white symbolizes purity of intentions and professional honor.

In Medical College No. 2, festive events are held in the format of informal meetings. Leading healthcare specialists act as speakers. Thus, acting deputy chief physician for work with nursing staff of the Moscow Multidisciplinary Clinical Center "Kommunarka" Evgeny Pozdnyakov-Davydov has already shared his experience with first-year students. The next meeting will take place on September 18, and will be attended by Olesya Tanshina, deputy chief physician for work with nursing staff of City Clinical Hospital No. 15 named after O.M. Filatov.

On the same and the following days, the holiday will be celebrated at Medical College No. 5. The symbol of the celebration will be a tree, which will be placed in a pot at the entrance to the building. The children will be able to tie ribbons on the branches and make wishes related to the profession. The culmination of the event will be the "Hearts of Unity" campaign. During the oath, teachers will hand the first-year students scarlet glass hearts, which they will raise above the hall as a sign of compassion and readiness to devote themselves to patients.

"Choosing a medical career is not just a profession, but a calling that requires dedication, knowledge and compassion. We are looking forward to seeing these guys in the ranks of medical workers. Let the white coat become a symbol of dedication to your favorite work and the desire for constant professional growth. I am proud of the new generation of doctors and believe that their work will benefit many patients," said Pavel Berezhansky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Medical College No. 5.

Previously Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, reported that the capital has completed main stage college admission campaign. 37 thousand Moscow ninth-graders were admitted to state-funded places. This is 40 percent more than the year before.

The first step in a career: how young specialists undergo internships in the Moscow Government

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Gain your first work experience, contribute to the development of your favorite city and improve your hard and soft skills – these are the opportunities that open up for young professionals Internship program in the Moscow Government on September 15th accepting applications to participate in the new stream.

We tell you how internships help capital institutions and promising young people find each other.

Work in the largest teams – from the metro to registry offices

The Personnel Services Department has been running an internship program in the Moscow Government since 2011. Since then, about 2.5 thousand young specialists have joined the development of capital projects and helped make the city even more modern, comfortable and beautiful. Students in their final year of bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as university graduates under 35, can try themselves out.

"One of the key objectives of the program is to dispel myths about the civil service. Stereotypes are still alive that it is impossible to get into the Moscow Government on your own and that our work is paper-based, boring, and not interesting for young people. We show how the city team really lives and what large-scale projects it is involved in. The Moscow Government is the largest employer in the capital, it includes 2.5 thousand institutions with almost a million employees. Usually, students and recent university graduates apply for internships, but in recent years, people around 30 years old have often come. They have experience, but want to change their career track and work for the benefit of the city," said Maria Pirogova, head of the internship and practice sector of the Moscow Government's career development center.

Those wishing to undertake an internship should visitwebsite and apply by filling out a questionnaire about yourself. The second stage of selection is an online test. It allows you to evaluate the candidate's ability to analyze information and make decisions in different situations. Then you need to write a resume and record a video business card, telling about your expectations from the internship and career plans.

“At the final stage, we ‘match’ candidates and institutions, taking into account the wishes of both parties. As a result, the former find a job they like, and the latter — the best candidates for the vacancy. At the same time, during the six-month internship, the intern can try himself in three institutions. But if he and the employer like each other, we do not change anything. Most of the guys work 40 hours a week and receive a salary of 54 thousand rubles a month. For those who find it difficult to combine studies with a full working day, a 20-hour format is available (then the payment is 27 thousand rubles a month). At the beginning of the internship, we help to adapt: we explain how the structure of the Government is arranged, how the departments interact. The curators of the program make sure that the internship is effective and comfortable. Mentors from the employer grow young personnel: they give tasks, advice, feedback,” noted Maria Pirogova.

Currently, seven internship areas are open: “Social City”, “Media City”, “Comfortable Urban Environment”, “HR City”, “Legal Space”, “Urban Economy and Finance”, “Veterinary Area”. Applications will be accepted for two more areas soon. These are “IT City” and “Internship in Moscow Transport”. The partners include the Moscow Metro, the Traffic Management Center, civil registry offices, the Moscow Tourism Committee, veterinary clinics.

For example, novice IT specialists develop digital services, and veterinarians, under the supervision of experienced doctors, conduct outpatient appointments, collect anamnesis and develop a treatment plan for pets. In addition, analysts, lawyers, designers and SMM specialists undergo internships. In particular, the guys hone soft skills, including the ability to work in a team, competently distribute tasks and plan time. About 60 percent of interns receive a job offer. Many graduates built a career in city institutions and took management positions.

Immersion in work from day one and meetings without ties

Gleb Semiletov got an internship when he was a fourth-year student at the National Research University Higher School of Economics in the field of State and Municipal Administration. Thanks to it, he was able to begin immersing himself in the profession while writing his diploma. The young analyst joined the information technology department Committee for State Construction Supervision of the City of Moscow.

"The internship started right away, without any warm-up. I didn't wash the floors, didn't reshuffle papers, but from the first day I was engaged in serious tasks. I participated in a new project to equip city construction sites with recording devices: cameras, noise and dust sensors. They allow our inspectors to remotely monitor safety at the sites. Thanks to the cameras, for example, you can see at any time whether all the workers are wearing helmets. I helped tell developers why recording devices are important and what requirements they must meet, kept a register of already equipped sites, checked whether the devices were located in the right place, whether they were in good working order. I also joined the development of a video analytics system based on artificial intelligence. Computer vision in cameras independently identifies violations. It will not replace inspectors, but it will help in decision-making and speed up the elimination of problems. I liked that the organization is modern, technological. Now I work in the management as a chief specialist," shared Gleb Semiletov.

At one of the career forums, the bright pavilion of the Moscow Government also attracted Gleb Gantov, a final-year student at the Russian University of Transport, studying in the field of "Transport Business and Logistics, Operation of Railways." At the forum, he learned about the internship program. The young man has been interested in rail transport since childhood, so he chose the service of Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) of the capital's metro.

"My responsibilities included analyzing and distributing passenger flows on the Moscow Central Diameters, analyzing compensation routes during platform repairs. Often, it was necessary to go out into the field. The systems automatically record the number of people at the station, but for a certain period, for example, for an hour. However, even within an hour, the flows jump: at 18:15, a loaded train usually leaves Moscow-City, and at 18:59, a free one. I tested the trains during rush hour and compared the results with the system data. In general, this is the rule of our service: employees use city transport and, if they find a problem, they immediately look for a solution," the program participant emphasized.

The interns also attended excursions to the bus depot, the motorcar depot and the unified dispatch center. They went to the Moscow metro at night to learn how the infrastructure is updated during station closures. They also had informal meetings: specialists gave recommendations on how to realize themselves in the Moscow transport complex.

"The reality exceeded my expectations from the internship. I was very happy when I was offered a job as a chief specialist of the department of analysis and development of processes in the MCD service. In my opinion, an employee of our complex should have his own position, but study the world experience in detail, because the metropolis will pay dearly for his mistakes. And it is also important to constantly improve yourself, because the city is rapidly moving forward. Now I have entered graduate school, I will write a candidate's dissertation on the development of urban rail transport," shared Gleb Gantov.

"The Moscow team is united by their concern for their home city"

A love of travel and Moscow inspired marketer Maria Antipova to develop the capital's tourism. She graduated from the Russian International Academy of Tourism. The internship program opened the door to her dream job intourist service Russpass. With its help, you can plan a trip around Moscow or another region, marking with a heart the sights, monuments and museums you like, and also book a hotel room and a table in a restaurant, buy plane or train tickets, tickets to museums and exhibitions.

"After a short adaptation period, under the guidance of a mentor, I began preparing materials for advertising Russpass. Promoting our service is a pleasure: it is modern and convenient. Thanks to it, I learned more about my native capital than I ever knew. Studying historical streets, museums, galleries and monuments, you understand how culturally rich Moscow is. It's great that my efforts were appreciated, and after three weeks of internship I received a job offer. I sincerely believe that you need to work on city projects for love," said Maria Antipova, leading specialist of the online marketing directorate of the ANO "Project Office for the Development of Tourism and Hospitality of Moscow".

Thanks to an internship in city projects, you can see the fruits of your labor not only as an employee, but also as a resident, says program director Maria Pirogova.

"The internship will give you back as much as you put into it. It's a great start, but further growth depends only on you. The Moscow team is united by their concern for their home city and its residents. Anyone who wants to become part of it must be not only a professional, but also a person who prioritizes people, never stops developing and is always ready for new challenges facing the capital," she concluded.

Kuntsev volunteers handed over protective covers for thermal imagers to SVO fighters

Translation. Region: Russian Federal

Source: Moscow Government – Government of Moscow –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The organization "Golden Hands of an Angel" transferred another batch of humanitarian aid to the special operation zone – the first 10 anti-thermal imaging blankets, sewn using a new unique technology. Multilayer anti-thermal imaging blankets were developed by the volunteers themselves. They improved the design of conventional similar products to increase the effectiveness of protection against drones and enemy thermal imagers.

"Similar factory-made products are strictly rectangular in shape. We sew frills around the perimeter of the blanket so that it practically blends into the terrain and is indistinguishable to a drone. It becomes invisible to a thermal imager thanks to another know-how – the use of several types of special fabrics with protective properties," says Amira Magomedova, head of the "Molodogvardeets" branch of the volunteer organization "Golden Hands of an Angel" in Kuntsevo.

The exact fabrics that produce this effect are kept secret. Before mass production of the improved blankets began, they were tested in real combat conditions. The fighters who maintain constant contact with the volunteers highly appreciated the new product.

"During the blanket testing, we had, you could say, a miraculous rescue story. I needed to evacuate a wounded comrade. An enemy drone spotted us. I covered myself and my comrade with blankets, and the drone flew past without noticing us. Two lives were saved," said one of the soldiers.

Volunteers have already received 150 applications for such products from military units. The next batch will be sent to the front line on October 7.

Where it all began

The organization "Golden Hands of an Angel" was created in March 2022. Its leader, Muscovite Lyudmila Sushetskaya, responded to the call of one of the founders of the national school of tactical medicine, a participant in the military operations in Donbass, surgeon Yuri Yevich. He asked volunteers to join in sewing soft stretchers for the rapid evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield. Lyudmila purchased the first batch of slings and threads with her own money. She very quickly found like-minded seamstresses and received support from benefactors. Today, "Golden Hands of an Angel" has 16 branches in Moscow and the Moscow region, one of the first opened in the Kuntsevo district.

What do they sew and knit?

The Molodogvardeets workshop, located in Kuntsevo, began operating in May 2023. During this time, volunteers have manufactured and sent to the SVO zone more than two thousand evacuation stretchers, a thousand evacuation slings, 500 field stools (seats), more than 150 Chimera and Kikimora camouflage suits, and 50 protective boxes for drones.

In addition, volunteers sew fleece hats and sweaters at home. For hospitals, they make boots for the Ilizarov apparatus, as well as special pillows for the wounded, whose arm or leg is in traction during treatment.

How to join

"Golden Hands of an Angel" invites everyone to cooperate. You can take part in making products for fighters or help with materials. Volunteers accept fabrics (cotton, thick (tarpaulin, denim), jersey and fleece), as well as bed linen, sweatpants, T-shirts, fleece sweaters, hats.

You can contact the organization by writing a message in the group "VKontakte".

Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin held strategic session on the development of high-speed transport links. Participation in it was taken by Sergei Sobyanin.

Opening the meeting, Mikhail Mishustin noted that, on the instructions of the President of Russia, comprehensive work is being carried out to ensure the connectivity of the country's territories and increase the mobility of its citizens. To this end, large-scale tasks are being implemented within the framework of the new national projects "Efficient Transport System" and "Infrastructure for Life".

"First of all, the largest backbone road network is being built, which will connect all of Russia. Railways are being laid, including in the Far East. The possibilities of using inland waterways to organize passenger transportation are also expanding. In the regions, airfields and passenger terminals are being actively modernized," said Mikhail Mishustin.

In the transport sector, advanced digital technologies and services are being actively introduced, allowing passengers to conveniently purchase tickets and check in for their flights in advance, and entrepreneurs, for example, to calculate the optimal route through logistics platforms for sending goods or to issue virtually any accompanying documents electronically.

“It is important that the solutions and innovations being created give an additional impetus to domestic science, industry, related sectors and, in general, strengthen technological sovereignty,” noted Mikhail Mishustin.

Particular attention is paid to the development of technologies for faster travel. The Russian President has approved a scheme for the development of high-speed rail service. The total length of the future network should be over 4.5 thousand kilometers.

"Thanks to this initiative, not only our two capitals will become even closer. The highways will run from Moscow to friendly Minsk, as well as to Yekaterinburg, Adler, Ryazan. They will harmoniously fit into the existing transport framework of the country and open up new opportunities for more than 100 million people," Mikhail Mishustin emphasized.

The first high-speed railway line Moscow-St. Petersburg is currently under construction in Russia. By now, organizational procedures have been completed, funding sources have been identified, and the necessary agreements have been signed with all major parties. Construction and installation work has already begun on the pilot section, and preparations have begun on the rest.

"The planned route will be 679 kilometers long. It will be equipped with a new generation of rolling stock, which will set the highest speed bar in the country – about 400 kilometers per hour. The entire journey will take about two hours and 15 minutes. This is approximately twice the maximum capacity of the best electric trains today, such as Sapsan, Lastochka, and Finist. Of course, we will continue to develop transportation on them – they are popular with passengers. Hundreds of such trains operate on suburban and long-distance routes, and their number will gradually increase," said Mikhail Mishustin.

In addition, as part of the industry plan, the renewal of highways has been accelerated since last year. Particular attention is paid to high-speed highways, which will reduce travel time several times and stimulate the development of cities and towns. More than one trillion rubles of budget and private funds are planned to be allocated for their construction over six years.

By now, the total length of high-speed highways is approaching nine thousand kilometers. The goal has been set to reach an annual rate of launching at least 700 kilometers of new sections, which will be extended to all major agglomerations of the country.

The planned events by 2030 also include the creation of at least 50 bypasses of populated areas. This will help relieve cities of transit traffic, increase traffic on through highways and improve the logistics of interregional transportation.

According to Mikhail Mishustin, it is necessary to develop the infrastructure of all types of transport in a synchronized manner, making comprehensive decisions and taking into account the specifics of multimodal transportation. This will contribute to the achievement of the national goals outlined by the President of Russia and will improve the quality of life of millions of Russians.
