To mark this memorable date, the Moscow Main Archives Department opened a new online exhibition. "Science and Education Center. For the 160th Anniversary of the Russian State Agrarian University"You can explore it in the virtual museum "Moscow – Caring for History" in the "Media Library" section, under "Exhibitions."

The new exhibition features photographs by such masters of Russian photography as Boris Ignatovich, Nikolai Kuleshov, Boris Trepetov, Viktor Shandrin, and Vyacheslav Sharovsky. These images offer a glimpse into the history of the university's development from the 1930s to the 1980s. The exhibition "Triumph of Victory" opened in the offices of "My Documents" and on the Glavarkhiv website.

On December 3, 1865, by decree of Emperor Alexander II, the oldest higher agricultural educational institution in Russia—the Petrovskaya Agricultural and Forestry Academy—was founded on the grounds of the Petrovskoye-Razumovskoye estate near Moscow. Its charter was adopted on October 27 of that year. Nikolai Zheleznov, the future first director of the Imperial Academy of Sciences, and Professor Pavel Ilyenkov, head of the Department of Organic and Agronomic Chemistry, participated in the development of the institution.

Speaking at the opening, Nikolai Zheleznov said: "The Academy should not consist of superiors and subordinates, but of members of one family striving to achieve a common goal." The first lectures were given here on January 25, 1866.

It was a unique open educational institution, initially admitting students and trainees from all walks of life. Entrance exams did not exist until 1872; only final exams were taken. In June 1894, the Moscow Agricultural Institute was established to "provide students with higher education in agriculture and agricultural engineering."

After 1917, the educational institution was renamed the Petrovskaya Agricultural Academy. Its charter was amended, and new curricula were created. As early as December 1923, members of the Council of People's Commissars decided to rename the institution the Kliment Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. During the Great Patriotic War, a significant portion of the Timiryazev Academy was evacuated to Uzbekistan. Many of the university's staff and students went to help collective farms or served at the front. A large triage and evacuation hospital, No. 2386, was established in the academy's dormitories. Classes in Moscow only resumed in 1943.

On June 20, 2005, the academy was renamed the Russian State Agrarian University – Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy. On November 14, 2025, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, the staff of this key institution of higher education for the country's agriculture was awarded the Order "For Valiant Labor" for their significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists for Russia's agro-industrial complex and for their achievements in research and teaching.

Bauman Moscow State Technical University students can pick up online orders at their dormitories.

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

Source: Moscow Government – Moscow Government –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Two devices of the Moscow Postamat city service have been installed in the dormitories of Bauman Moscow State Technical University (MSTU). Now students can pick up goods ordered from marketplaces, as well as fresh groceries, without waiting in line and at any convenient time.

Installing the devices directly on dormitory premises has become a unique solution for student campuses. One of the project's lockers is located in Dormitory No. 10 on Gospitalny Lane (buildings 4–6, building 1). It handles products from the city's largest marketplace partners. The second device, a specialized refrigerated locker, is located in Dormitory No. 14 on Gospitalnaya Embankment (building 4a, building 1). In addition to products from marketplaces, you can order healthy food brands with free delivery.

"We're constantly looking for solutions that make student life more convenient. For example, to reduce the time spent traveling between buildings, we made electric scooters available near campus buildings. Following the same logic, we introduced parcel lockers—a small but truly useful addition to the infrastructure. They allow students to quickly pick up their orders and avoid wasting time on everyday chores. The less students have to worry about where to pick up groceries or parcels, the more they can focus on their studies," notes Evgeny Popov, Vice Rector for Campus Policy at Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

Convenience and safety

One of the advantages of the parcel lockers installed in dorms is 24/7 access. Students can pick up their orders at any time, regardless of delivery schedules. Safety and contactlessness are also key features. There's no need to meet couriers to pick up your items. The locker is equipped with a CCTV camera that records the loading and pickup process. The lockers only open with a one-time code, providing additional security.

A clear advantage is the time savings: students now receive their orders quickly, without having to travel far to pickup points and wait in line. Functionality is also key: the refrigeration unit's temperature control allows for food storage in its compartments for up to four hours. To arrange delivery, select a city network device in the partner brand's app. When the order arrives, the user will receive a message confirming that the order is in the refrigeration unit. Items can be picked up using a unique code sent via SMS.

"Parcel lockers in the dorms are really convenient. Classes often go on until late, and waiting for a courier or going to a pickup point isn't always an option. But at a parcel locker, you can pick up your order on your way home or in the morning before class. First and foremost, of course, I'd like the service to be fast and reliable, with notifications arriving on time and goods delivered safely," notes Milina Khabirova, a second-year student in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Technologies from Dormitory No. 14.

Over 1,500 devices have been installed in the capital. city networkParcel lockers are located in residential building entrances, at public transportation stops, libraries, and shopping and business centers. The city plans to increase the number of lockers in Moscow dormitories to provide as many students as possible with convenient contactless order pickup.

Big City Moms: How NGOs Help Women Gain Self-Confidence

Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The capital has charitable programs for mothers in difficult life situations. These include women raising children with disabilities, pregnant women, mothers with many children, and single mothers. Having received support and regained their footing, they often later join the large community of caring citizens.

You can help the wards of non-profit organizations (NPOs) implementing humanitarian projects for women with the help of charitable service mos.ru lists over 100 verified NGOs. They are listed in the Moscow Charity Organizations Registry, regularly report on the use of their funds, and publish stories of those they support.

Mos.ru users can select one or more nonprofits, make a one-time donation, or start supporting them regularly. The service also allows for a single payment to support all programs across nine categories: Children, Adults, Seniors, Animals, Combat Veterans, Families, People with Disabilities, Ecology, and Science and Education. Muscovites can also create their own collection for one of these categories.

Help mothers of children with rare diseases

The Rare Women Foundation's project Butterfly Children has become a source of support for many mothers raising children with rare diseases such as epidermolysis bullosa and ichthyosis. Women can take advantage of several support programs, including psychological counseling, additional education, and coaching. This support helps them cope with emotional burnout and depression, realize their goals, and become not only a support system but also a role model for their child.

In 2025, the Butterfly Children charity foundation received a grant from the Mayor of Moscow for further project developmentThe funds will be used to create educational materials, conduct an information campaign, and provide legal consultations.

"It's important for a woman to be able to focus on her own desires beyond her child's illness. Many 'rare' mothers lack the resources and strength to do so. This grant will allow us to reach more beneficiaries, providing them with tools for recovery and self-fulfillment," said Alena Kuratova, director of the Butterfly Children Foundation.

This year, the project received a new status—it was registered as an autonomous non-profit organization, "Rare Women." This allowed it to expand its support to the federal level.

Put together a food package and things for the children

Fund Women for Life The foundation works for pregnant women, families with many children, and single mothers who find themselves in difficult life situations. They can seek psychological support, medical and financial assistance, and legal advice. The foundation created the "Mom's Window" project. It helps women quickly receive essential food packages, clothing and footwear for themselves and their children, stationery, hygiene products, and special holiday gifts, such as elegant New Year's dresses for girls. Over the years, the project has provided such assistance to nearly 11,000 women and their children.

"The project launched in February 2020. It all started with a spontaneous desire to help—we simply went to the store, bought groceries, and distributed them to those in need. This kind of support was especially important during the quarantine, especially for families where one of the breadwinners had lost their job or the mother was raising a child alone. And we realized that food assistance should be ongoing," noted Natalia Moskvitina, president of the Women for Life charitable foundation.

Thus, special “collection boxes” were placed in which caring citizens can leave necessary goodsThey accept products in factory packaging with a long shelf life (groceries and cereals, pasta, baby food, cookies, candy, tea, and more). You can also support the project through monetary donations, which will then be used to purchase necessary items and food.

Inspire by personal example

Many women who have experienced hardship and received support often want to join the volunteer community themselves. The resource center provides such opportunities. MosvolonterMuscovites are participating in events, good projects, and campaigns: from collecting humanitarian aid to master classes at volunteer centers. Good Place.

Mothers who volunteer instill in their children a love of good deeds and dedicate their family time to volunteering. For example, Natalia Yakovleva, a mother of two sons, has been volunteering for over four years. She has focused on several areas—sports, environmentalism, and animal volunteering. Together with her children and husband, Natalia Yakovleva visits homeless animals in city shelters, beautifies parks and nature reserves, and plants tree saplings. The Yakovleva family participates in charity runs, prepares gifts for the elderly who have lost their families, and helps send children in difficult life situations to school.

"I try to show my sons by personal example how important and rewarding it is to help, so they can continue doing so as adults. Through volunteering, I want to teach them to appreciate what they have and to share their attention and care with those in need. It's always nice to be a little bit of a magician and bring joy to someone with your attention. When the whole family volunteers, it's a great way to combine business with pleasure," shared Natalia Yakovleva.

You can learn more about volunteering on the Mosvolonter resource center website and its social media page. VKontakte and in Telegram channel.
