Students from the State University of Management, as part of several interuniversity teams, became winners and runners-up in the student project competition at the VIII International Heritage Forum, organized by the Moscow Department of Cultural Heritage.

Nine Moscow teams, working on projects to restore the Sofia Saks Moscow Wool Weaving Manufactory, as well as six regional teams and two international teams, took part in the competition.

Alexandra Nenarokomova, a fourth-year student in the Urban Studies and City Management program at the State University of Management, won the competition as part of an interuniversity team. The team's project emphasized creating a public space for residents of the area and weaving the factory's past and present through fabric elements and digital technology.

Among Moscow's projects, a team including Malika Yarmukhamedova, a fourth-year student in the "Urban Studies and City Management" program at the State University of Management, took second place. The team developed a concept for a multifunctional space for residents and visitors of the Mozhaisk district, "Interweaving," designed to become a hub of ideas, creativity, and knowledge for all ages. The project focuses on continuing education, creative industries, and the local identity of the area.

Students from the State University of Management, as part of other teams, also received awards and recognition in various categories: "Relevant Idea," "Best Visualization," "Original Adaptation Idea," "Organization of Restoration Work," and "Passion for the Research Idea." The students agreed that working with specialists from different fields and universities was a unique and rewarding experience.

"The forum became a platform for dialogue between people of various professions and provided an opportunity to demonstrate my professional skills in practice. I was able to work in various areas: creating situational analysis schemes, conducting social surveys, and integrating the site into the daily lives of the district's residents. The competition once again reminded us that our task is not simply to preserve cultural heritage sites but also to pass on to future generations a city where history becomes the foundation for a comfortable life for generations," said Ulyana Laryushina, a student at the State University of Management.

In addition, as part of the VIII International Heritage Forum, which attracted approximately 30,000 participants, Irina Milkina, Associate Professor of the Department of Public and Municipal Administration at the State University of Management and Head of the Urban Development Project and Educational Laboratory, delivered a lecture entitled "The Second Life of Cultural Heritage Sites."

Vladimir Stroyev, rector of the State University of Management, will kick off the event at the country's leading management university. He will be the first to remove a Christmas tree ball containing the cherished wish of a child in difficult circumstances and fulfill their dream.

From December 11th to 13th, representatives of the State University of Management visited Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk as part of the program "Code of the Fatherland: The Arctic Begins Here," developed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in conjunction with the ANO "More Than a Journey."

The program was timed to coincide with Russian Constitution Day, so an online meeting was held on December 12, bringing together project participants from across the country: Vladivostok, Izhevsk, Crimea, Chelyabinsk, Arkhangelsk, and Nalchik.

Alexandra Timokhovich and Olga Vasilyeva, representatives of the GUU Institute of Marketing, joined a delegation of faculty and students from leading Russian universities to visit the hero city of Arkhangelsk and the nuclear shipbuilding center of Severodvinsk.

"Visiting Russia's Arctic regions has been a long-held dream. During the trip, we were able to enjoy the beauty of the northern nature, experience the history of Pomorye, see the connection of these places with the Northern Sea Route and the development of the Russian Navy, and also learn about the advanced industry in which Russia is a leader. Today, many are searching for meaning in life for themselves, for students, and for the younger generation. Visiting the regions of our country where our history was born, where labor feats were accomplished, and military victories were won, definitely contributes to this sense of meaning," shared Alexandra Timokhovich, Associate Professor of the Advertising and Public Relations Department at the State University of Management.

In addition to introducing the cultural and historical heritage of the northern region, including the Arkhangelsk Gostiny Dvory historical and architectural complex, the Malye Korely State Museum-Reserve of Wooden Architecture, and the Severodvinsk Museum of Local History, significant attention was paid to the region's role in the development of northern shipping, the formation of the state navy, milestones in Russian shipbuilding, the patriotism of northerners during the Great Patriotic War, and the importance of the Arctic region in achieving current national security goals.

During a visit to the military memorial complex on Yagry Island, our teachers laid flowers at the memorial sign in honor of the sailors of the nuclear submarine Kursk.

"Pomorye is about people: strong in spirit, true to their principles, and respectful of their traditions. I'm amazed by their willingness to go on expeditions into the pack ice of the northern seas on wooden kochs, to build cities in the harsh climate of swamps, to construct nuclear submarines—a marvel of engineering—and, most importantly, to have an immense love for their northern region," noted Olga Vasilyeva, senior lecturer in the Department of Advertising and Public Relations at the State University of Management.

The special program "Code of the Fatherland" was developed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in collaboration with the ANO "More Than a Journey" as part of the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It aims to promote socially beneficial patriotic travel across Russia. The program is being implemented with the support of the All-Russian public-state movement of children and youth "Movement of the First," the Russian Society "Knowledge," the presidential platform "Russia – Land of Opportunities," the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.

On December 13, 2025, the awards ceremony for the winners of the 3rd All-Russian Children's and Youth Competition "Young House Manager – Creator of a Favorable Living Environment" was held at VDNKh in the congress hall of the Cosmonautics and Aviation pavilion.

The competition aims to identify, mentor, and support talented young citizens who are actively involved in managing their homes, neighborhoods, neighborhoods, and schools.

During the absentee stage of the competition, more than 700 applications were submitted, containing over 110 projects for the creation of an accessible, favorable, comfortable, and safe living environment, from participants from 79 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The in-person stage, which took place in Moscow from December 11th to 13th, was attended by 230 contestants in the 7-9, 10-13, 14-17, and 18-25 age categories and academic supervisors from 40 regions of the Russian Federation.

The largest delegations came from Krasnodar Krai, the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Tatarstan, and the Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, and Sverdlovsk regions. The most popular categories among contestants in the 7-9 age category were "My District," among those in the 10-13 and 14-17 age categories were "My School," "My Yard," and "My District," and among those in the 18-25 age category were "My Yard" and "Information Technology and Innovation in Urban Management."

On December 11, first-year students Olga Zonova, Daria Monakhova, Olesya Parfimovich, and Yulia Frolova, as part of the Service Learning program, held a quiz and a New Year's workshop for competition participants. The workshop encouraged participants to collaborate on a project to decorate their entryway using scrap materials.

On December 12, project defenses took place at two competition venues: the State University of Management and the Moscow City Economy Complex Management Center. At the State University of Management, competition day events were held for participants aged 7 to 17 and their mentors.

On behalf of the university's leadership, the guests were welcomed by Sergei Chuev, Advisor to the Rector's Office of the State University of Management, Head of the Department of Public and Municipal Administration, and Vladimir Zotov, Advisor to the Mayor of Moscow and Professor of the Department of Public and Municipal Administration at the State University of Management.

During the defense of the contestants' projects, a scientific and practical seminar entitled "The Urban Environment of the Future: A Dream Career Begins with Managing Your City" was held for their mentors and support staff.

The competition's experts included representatives of state and municipal authorities, educational institutions, urban management specialists, and representatives of civil society institutions.

After the defense, volunteer students from among the GUU students organized an introductory tour of the university campus, and for the mentors of the contestants, Olga Kharlamova, director of the GUU scientific library, led a tour of the library's halls and archives.

The competition day concluded for all participants with a tour of the center of festive pre-New Year Moscow.

Based on the results of the tests, the authors of 80 projects became winners and prize-winners of the competition.

On December 13, the awards ceremony was opened by Svetlana Razvorotneva, Deputy Chair of the State Duma Committee on Construction, Housing, and Public Utilities. In her welcoming remarks, the deputy emphasized the importance of engaging young citizens in improvement projects for public buildings, homes, and courtyards: "It won't be long before many of these young people will be professionally involved in housing and public utilities and public welfare. Their energy and creativity will be greatly appreciated by the industry."

Alexander Kozlov, Chairman of the Moscow City Duma's Commission on State Construction and Local Self-Government and Chairman of the Council for Professional Qualifications in Housing and Public Utilities, noted that "what homes and cities should be like for future generations is something the future generation itself must decide."

Boris Khmelnikov, General Director of the Center for Municipal Economics and Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Entrepreneurship in Housing and Public Utilities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, congratulated the competition participants and their mentors.

The winners and runners-up were also presented with awards by Dmitry Klimov, director of the Geek Chess online chess school for children and adults and partner of the competition; Andrey Maksimov, chairman of the competition's organizing committee and chairman of the Commission on Territorial Development, Urban Environment, and Infrastructure of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation; Yuri Khaikevich, development director of the Union of Small Towns of Russia; Veronika Mezhetskaya, general director of the Guild of Landscape Industry Professionals Association; and Daria Zhadobina, executive director of the competition and assistant professor in the Department of Public and Municipal Administration at the State University of Management.

The competition was included in the list of creative competitions approved by Order No. 639 of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation dated August 31, 2025 (clause 6.206), allowing winners and prize-winners of the competition to receive additional points when applying to universities.

The winning projects from the in-person stage of the competition have already attracted the attention of an expert jury comprised of representatives from development institutions, urban development organizations, and housing and utilities. The projects will also be recommended to local governments for further implementation in municipalities across the Russian Federation.

The State University of Management held a Demo Day for the "Spectrum of Innovations" acceleration program, where the best projects were announced. The event became a key gathering point for the innovation community, bringing together representatives of leading partner companies, development institutions, and experts.

Over the course of several months, program participants underwent an intensive educational program aimed at developing innovative products.

The accelerator, implemented as part of the federal project "Technologies" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" of the state program "Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation," provided comprehensive support to project teams and student initiatives.

In total, participants developed approximately 70 business ideas during the accelerator, and approximately 400 people completed the educational program. The program included workshops, educational modules, direct interaction with partners, and other activities aimed at developing entrepreneurial competencies.

At the final event, experts were presented with the most developed projects covering three promising markets: FoodNet, SportNet, and AutoNet. Among the solutions that were presented were services for logistics optimization, car service selection, and parking space rental, the development of a smart bottle and specialized drinks for athletes, projects in gaming technology, and next-generation service stations.

The Demo Day expert jury included representatives of key program partners: Sberbank Moscow Bank, Elinar Holding Company, Arktika Trading House LLC, Chibo Park LLC, Tablogix LLC, Dream Auto LLC, and Turbokomplekt JSC. Also participating in the project evaluation were ANO Human Capital Development, Phoenix Sports Club, the Kaluga Region Agency for Innovative Development, and partners from Open Innovations Startup Studio LLC.

Following the Demo Day, all finalist teams received nominations from the organizers, and some projects received valuable prizes from partners. The top three winners were:

1st place: P2P parking service "Zaparkuy" (Robert Eremyan, Maxim Zhilyaev, Vita Kobycheva, Dmitry Leskov, Polina Roskina, Ilya Cheplya);

2nd place: RICE – a specialized AI-based platform for marketing automation and promotion in the confectionery business (Snezhanna Belova, Alexander Spirin, Alevtina Maryenko, Dilyara Mlyukova);

3rd place: SpeachGame – an import-independent messenger product for all types of gamers (Efim Kreslavsky, Egor Ryakhovsky).

The head of the acceleration program, Vice-Rector of the State University of Management, Dmitry Bryukhanov, highly praised the results achieved:

"The Demo Day was a fitting conclusion to the program. We thank our partners for their investment in the development of our projects and students. Vladimir Stroyev, Rector of the State University of Management, attended an open lesson, "Automated Technologies in Modern Manufacturing," held in our university's state-of-the-art numerical control systems (NCS) training laboratory, designed to train personnel in the aircraft manufacturing, shipbuilding, and innovative transportation industries.

The educational space is equipped with technologies to support modern metalworking equipment with numerical control, a specialized computer lab, and software simulators for practicing control programs. This creates an integrated learning environment where students can consistently master technologies—from virtual modeling to hands-on work on real equipment.

Laboratory Director Dmitry Nikitin detailed the goals and objectives of the new division, which include organizing additional professional education and advanced training for industry employees, promoting engineering creativity among students and young people, and integrating digital technologies into the educational process.

Today, three additional professional training programs are being implemented at the CNC laboratory:

Preparation and verification of control programs for CNC turning machines. Preparation and verification of control programs for CNC milling machines. Automated technologies in modern manufacturing.

Since the laboratory's opening, more than 260 industrial engineers and university professors have completed advanced training programs, while over 200 students have completed lecture courses and attended educational intensives.

During the open lesson, participants learned the operating principles of milling equipment and mastered the creation of control programs in CAD/CAM systems. Practical training using software simulators and CNC training systems enabled students not only to gain theoretical understanding but also to apply their acquired knowledge in practice.

The CNC Laboratory was created with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation as part of the federal project "Development of the most important science-intensive technologies and advanced training and retraining of qualified personnel in the field of transport mobility" of the national project "Industrial support of transport mobility."

The laboratory also implements networked professional development programs with three partner universities:

Vladimir State University named after A. G. and N. G. Stoletov; Grozny State Oil Technological University named after Academician M. D. Millionshchikov; Belgorod State Technological University named after V. G. Shukhov.

The CNC Laboratory of the State University of Management continues to develop as a center of excellence in the field of automated technologies, providing training for highly qualified specialists for modern industry.

On December 12 and 13, young scientists from the State University of Management participated in the IV All-Russian Forum of Technological Entrepreneurship "TechPred-2025," organized by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.

The University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform's flagship event featured a packed program focusing on support measures and accelerating the market entry of startups that meet national technology priorities.

At the sessions, government, academic, and business representatives, investors, and young entrepreneurs discussed the roadmap for the federal "Technology" project, university cooperation with leading industry companies, the creation of a startup ecosystem, successful technology transfer models, and prospects for transforming the technology industry in the face of global challenges.

The SMU business program was represented by Dmitry Rogov, Director of the Business Incubator; Anna Sotnikova, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Junior Research Fellow in the Scientific Activities Department of the Scientific Research Coordination Office; Vladimir Kutkov and Nikita Akinshin, specialists from the Engineering Project Management Center; and Mikhail Zorin, winner of the 2025 Student Startup competition and resident of the Academy of Innovators.

The central event of the TechPred-2025 forum was the plenary discussion "The Superposition Principle: Towards a Technological Breakthrough by Joining Efforts."

The event was opened by Antony Shvindt, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Government Commission for Scientific and Technological Development of Russia, who read a welcoming speech from Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Another key event of the forum's first day was the Demo Day for the seventh cohort of the "Innovators' Academy" accelerator of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development. The founders of the ten best startups presented their technological solutions to an expert jury, corporate executives, and business angels, and received their first investments. SUMU also stepped up its efforts – for the second year in a row, our students have been volunteering at the Academy's Demo Day. This allows young managers not only to learn about best practices and developments in technology innovation but also to contribute to the organization of such a large-scale event.

It's important to note that our university actively participates in projects within the University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. SUM conducts entrepreneurial skills training, implements acceleration programs for NTI markets, and for the past two years, our students have won the Student Startup competition organized by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises (FASIE), and their projects have been included in the All-Russian ranking of the TOP-1000 university startups. This year was no exception. The list of top projects, selected in key technology areas, included startups HolterTECH (a wearable heart rate monitor with ECG recording technology, developed by Mikhail Zorin) and Clynn (a device for sterile and convenient delivery of Vaseline with precise dosing for tattoo artists, developed by Varvara Karamysheva). As a reminder, both projects won the Student Startup competition this year, and their founders received grants totaling 1 million rubles from the FASIE.

On December 12, the State University of Management held a graduation ceremony for students completing the professional retraining program "Consulting Psychologist: Basics."

Graduates from across Russia and the CIS attended the ceremony, highlighting the demand for the training and its importance to the professional community.

The program was aimed at developing the competencies necessary for professional psychological counseling. During the course, students:

Mastered the fundamental principles of counseling psychology and its conceptual framework; studied the structure of the counseling process and the specifics of its implementation; became familiar with the typology of clients and the specifics of working with them; learned about the variety of problems addressed during psychological counseling and ways to overcome them; acquired practical skills in applying the methods and techniques of counseling psychology; developed professionally important qualities of a counseling psychologist and outlined vectors for further professional development.

At the graduation ceremony, the committee chair and program supervisor congratulated the students on their successful completion. They wished the graduates continued professional success, emphasizing that the knowledge and skills they acquired open up broad opportunities for work in counseling centers, educational institutions, and private practice.

Pavel Pavlovsky, Vice-Rector of the State University of Management, also addressed the roundtable participants: "Service-learning is an ideal tool that resonates with the motivational characteristics of the current generation of young people. They want to do good. Those who implement service-learning participate in reshaping society toward positive change."

Previously, the State University of Management team took second place among 590 Russian universities in the All-Russian Competition of Best Practices in Organizing Community and Volunteer Activities in the category "Best Practices in Implementing the Service-Learning Program."

The roundtable discussion was organized as part of the second All-Russian Interuniversity Project Festival, "The Project Path: From Idea to Lessons Learned," with the support of the Interregional Educational and Methodological Center for Project-Based Learning, "Project-Based Learning as a Practical Training Technology," based at the State University of Management.
