The State University of Management held a ceremonial opening of the new season of the Service-Learning program, presenting the results of previous years and outlining future development vectors.

The meeting was opened by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Olga Petrova, who spoke about the program's implementation in Russia.

"The Service-Learning program is an important element of our systematic efforts to achieve youth policy goals and engage students in volunteer and community service. Many students, from their first year, want to not only gain theoretical knowledge but also apply it in practice. The project gives them the opportunity to test their skills, implement their ideas, and showcase their talents. Ultimately, these opportunities spark and sustain students' interest in self-development and self-realization throughout their years at the university," noted Olga Petrova.

Vladimir Stroev, Rector of the State University of Management, also delivered a welcoming speech:

"Our university was among the first to launch the program back in September 2023. Over the past two years, 67 social projects have been implemented for over 1,000 beneficiaries, and cooperation agreements have been signed with non-profit and public organizations in several regions of Russia. As a result of our systematic work, SUM took second place in the All-Russian Best Practices Competition, and by the end of the first quarter of this year, we were the leader in verifying social objectives. A number of cooperation agreements have been signed with major organizations. We intend to continue working and improving in this area."

Pavel Pavlovsky, Vice-Rector of the State University of Management, emphasized the importance of "Service Learning" for the country as a whole and for each participant in particular, noting that during the projects, students gain practical experience, which increases their competitiveness in the labor market. The Vice-Rector also signed cooperation agreements with the heads of several public organizations that have decided to partner with the State University of Management within the program.

Veronika Balandina, the program's director, presented the initiative's implementation mechanics at the State University of Management and its goals for 2025-2026 to those gathered.

On behalf of the university's partners, Alina Kontareva, President of the MnogoMama Center for Assistance to Large Families, who has been collaborating with GUU since 2023, spoke about the joint projects they have implemented. She expressed gratitude to the students for the interest, creativity, and responsibility they demonstrated during their work.

The event continued with presentations by students who were directly involved in the implementation of social initiatives.

On September 24, the State University of Management held a seminar-meeting for university management entitled "Tools for Developing Youth Entrepreneurship at the University: An Integrated Approach to Training Personnel for an Innovative Economy."

On behalf of the host party, Vladimir Stroev, Rector of the State University of Management, greeted those gathered.

"Today, we're meeting not just in a hall, but in the atrium of the SUM Business Center, where similar events are regularly held. This year, we've taken a special approach to building a business community, implementing programs to develop relevant skills not only for students but also for schoolchildren. For example, we hold entrepreneurship sessions at four of the country's largest children's centers: Artek, Okean, Smena, and Orlyonok. We work with students at our Pre-University Center. We've been supervising entrepreneurship classes for several years now, and their number is growing. We have a historical right to do this, as SUM's roots go back to the Aleksandrovsky Commercial School, where many famous merchant families studied. This is our specialty, and we will continue to move in this direction and cultivate leaders in all sectors," the rector concluded.

Next to speak was Ksenia Goryacheva, First Deputy Chair of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, who urged seminar participants to be united and engaged and to view entrepreneurship as an opportunity for students, together with their teachers, to explore the world around them, apply their knowledge here and now, and find their place.

Alexander Vedekhin, Deputy Director of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities at the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, greeted the audience via videoconference. The expert described the development of the "Startup as a Diploma" project, noted the importance of building a community of university alumni, and emphasized that "today, every student should have the opportunity to connect with the business community and try their hand at starting their own business."

Moving from the welcome section to the working program, Olga Serebryannikova, Director of the Project Office for the Development of Youth Entrepreneurship in Higher Education Institutions of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, introduced the event's organizers and described its structure and objectives.

Participants participated in a project session, where, through group work, they formulated their proposals on creating the necessary conditions for the development of the youth business community.

Before the presentation of the results of the work in the groups, university representatives were welcomed by Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

"Today, there's a strong demand from students for technological entrepreneurship. From their first year, they strive to develop, create projects, and achieve success. Our goal is to provide them with education and the right knowledge, including teaching them that taking risks is okay, but only consciously. Over the past few years, many systematic efforts have been made in this area: the University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform and the "Startup as a Diploma" project, which 198 universities have already joined. The presence of rectors and vice-rectors today demonstrates that we also have the internal administrative resources to address local issues. What we're discussing today and what you're doing in your organizations is important and necessary. Thank you for your work," concluded Olga Petrova.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized that all final results of the seminar-meeting will be systematized and presented to the Ministry of Education and Science.

On September 22, the State University of Management held a ceremony to inaugurate Master's students. First-year Master's students from the Institute of Distance Education at the State University of Management participated in the ceremony.

This traditional event takes place annually immediately after the university's admissions process is published to introduce new students to the university, inspire new part-time students to study, and facilitate their transition into the university.

During the official part of the meeting, the students were congratulated on their admission by the Institute's Director, Sergei Lenshin; Deputy Director, Elena Shnyreva; heads and deputy heads of the Institute's departments; and group curators.

Following this, a concert program prepared by the GUU Fine Arts Student Council began. Its main goal was to unite and entertain the newcomers, create a friendly atmosphere for first-year students to get acquainted, and introduce them to the Institute's traditions and the activities of the distance learning student government. The event concluded, as usual, with a song performed by the entire GUU Fine Arts Student Council.

On September 23, 2025, a meeting of the updated Academic Council of the State University of Management was held. The main items on the agenda were the preliminary results of the admissions campaign and the results of the summer exam session.

At the beginning of the meeting, Maxim Dzhetygenov, head of the Moscow branch of the VSKS and Moscow City Duma deputy, presented Vladimir Stroyev, rector of the State University of Management, with a letter of gratitude on behalf of the command and personnel of the BARS 15 "Ermak" detachment for their active work for the benefit of the Russian Armed Forces and the provision of charitable assistance to the detachment's volunteers.

"We've repeatedly donated aid to this unit, collected through the GUU-SVOim project, which has been running for two years now. Humanitarian aid collection is ongoing, and anyone can join in. We also continue to manufacture camouflage nets, dry showers, trench candles, and stoves, which is especially important as winter approaches. We thank all the institutes for engaging their staff and students in this effort," added Maxim Dzhetygenov.

"It's especially valuable for us to receive a letter of gratitude from a military unit for the assistance provided. This once again underscores the importance of the GUU-SVOim campaign, which we will undoubtedly continue. Soldiers defend our freedom in difficult circumstances, and it's our duty to help them," Vladimir Stroyev recalled.

Continuing the celebratory portion, the rector congratulated Irina Brikoshina, Head of the Project Management Department, on her belated birthday and presented several GUU employees with letters of gratitude from the Vykhino-Zhulebino District Administration for their high professionalism, conscientious approach to their duties, and significant personal contributions to the university's development.

After this, those gathered moved on to discussing the issues on the agenda.

Vadim Dikikh, Director of the Department of Digital Development and Admissions, discussed the results and innovations of the undergraduate admissions campaign.

"This year saw many new developments: for the first time, admissions were conducted entirely through Gosuslugi for all levels of preparation, from college to graduate school, and for the first time, there was a competition for key university preparatory programs for fee-paying studies, due to a limited number of places available. Nevertheless, the admissions campaign for undergraduate programs went quite smoothly: we assisted applicants with correctly completing their information, promptly resolved any issues that arose, including responding to premature complaints that could have been resolved without further delay. I'd like to note that this year, the number of applications from applicants generated using artificial intelligence increased by two-thirds, but we managed this too, guiding students on how to more accurately formulate AI queries so that they would be less prone to errors and would assist them in their personal development," concluded Vadim Dikikh.

The university rector agreed that this year's admissions campaign was truly emotional.

Next, the head of the University's Electronic Dean's Office, Kristina Firsova, reported on the results of the summer examination session for the 2024/2025 academic year.

"The number of successful students in full-time undergraduate and graduate programs remained at last year's level, at 89% and 77%, respectively. Meanwhile, the number of excellent students in part-time undergraduate programs increased," the specialist reported.

In addition, the Academic Council discussed social support measures for students, approved new continuing education programs, and approved the candidacies of scientists who are permitted to supervise postgraduate students and applicants.

At the end of the meeting, Vladimir Stroyev noted the high attendance rate of members of the updated Academic Council and thanked the participants for their active participation.

On September 23, the State University of Management hosted the district semi-final of the All-Russian competition among school rescue teams of the Central Federal District (VSKS).

246 schoolchildren from 16 regions of the Central Federal District gathered at the State University of Management. 31 teams represented the team.

Vladimir Stroev, Rector of the State University of Management, spoke at the opening of the competition:

"I'm delighted to welcome the teams to the country's premier management university. It's no coincidence that the semifinals are being held here for the second year, as the Moscow branch of the VSKS has been located on the campus of the State University of Management. I wish you all success in the competition, and that you may enroll at our university after high school and join the ranks of the State University of Management's Student Rescue Corps!"

Maxim Dzhetygenov, head of the Moscow branch of the VSKS, deputy of the Moscow City Duma, and the Emergency Response and Basic Military Training Center at the State University of Management, also gave a motivational speech to the students:

Deputy Chief Judge Daria Timoshenko then reminded participants about safety precautions, the importance of completing tests according to the instructions of those in charge, the role of counselors, and adhering to timelines.

The opening ceremony concluded with the ceremonial presentation of the Russian flag and the performance of the Russian anthem. Afterward, the athletes began the competition itself.

Semi-finalists competed in disciplines such as first aid, orienteering, fire relay racing and the use of primary fire extinguishing equipment, water rescue, mountaineering knots and visual rescue signs, donning firefighter uniforms and equipment as part of a team, and also underwent a general test on knowledge of first aid, psychological support, the use of primary fire extinguishing equipment, and actions in the event of a fire or road accident.

That evening, an awards ceremony was held for the winners, attended by Evgeny Kozeev, head of the All-Russian Student Rescue Corps, and Maxim Dzhetygenov, head of the Moscow branch of the All-Russian Student Rescue Corps. They congratulated the students on successfully completing the tests and wished them success in their future endeavors.

The results of the first stage of the "Compass of the Future" competition for tourism clubs of Moscow educational institutions have been announced. The competition was organized by the State University of Management and the Moscow Center for Educational Practices of the Moscow Department of Education and Science.

The first (remote) stage took the form of an online quiz on basic tourism knowledge. Seventy-one teams from school and student tourism clubs participated.

At the same time, the teams presented videos to the judges on the topic "My Travel Club," in which they answered the question of what tourism means to them and described the routes they had taken with their travel club.

The 20 teams that score the highest in both competitions will compete for the grand prize – equipment sets for future long hikes.

First place went to the "Vertical" club (School No. 937). Second and third place were shared between the "Edelweiss" STC (P.M. Vostrukhin Communications College No. 54) and "Gorizont" (School No. 534).

On September 20, the State University of Management hosted a large-scale youth forum, "Challenge Accepted!", which included patriotic, cultural, and sporting events.

At the opening ceremony, participants were greeted by Almaz Akhaev, Head of the Patriotic Education Department of the Department of Youth Policy and Educational Work at the State University of Management:

"Today, our university is home to ambitious young people who are eager to prove themselves and contribute to the development of sports and the country as a whole. I'm confident you'll succeed."

Accomplished champions, whose names are familiar to everyone, came out to motivate and support the participants of the upcoming competition: three-time Olympic synchronized swimming champion Alexandra Patskevich, WBO International champion and one of Russia's strongest light heavyweights, Umar Salamov, World Youth Boxing Championship champion Khusein Baysangurov, Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Alexander Krasnykh, Rio Olympic participant Daria Mullakaeva, and European relay champion Andrei Zhilkin.

Darya Mullakaeva not only gave a speech but also led an Olympic warm-up for everyone, which was joined by dozens of students.

The grand opening ceremony was concluded by MATANYA, winner of the TV project "Star", semi-finalist of the show "The Voice", and participant of the project "Songs on TNT", who performed songs in the style of dark folk cabaret and pop folk.

An Ecosystem of Opportunities for Youth," "Endless World," "Trends in Sports," and more.

Between the forum's exciting events, the participants could relax in partner activity areas and play board games, practice assembling and disassembling a machine gun, or test their aim at the laser shooting range.

In the evening, a gala awards ceremony for the winners and runners-up of the sporting competitions took place, as well as a concert by festival headliner Anet Sai, the author and performer of her own songs, including such hits as "If Your Tears Were Water," "Photograph with Your Eyes," and "With the Wind."

Our university was represented on stage by fourth-year IEF student Denis Andrianov and third-year IGUIP student Elena Leonova, who won the best place in badminton, as well as by Maxim Ushkarev (second-year IEF student) and Sofia Yumasheva (first-year IIS student), who took second place in table tennis.

On September 18, 2025, a working meeting was held between a delegation from the State University of Management and representatives of the M.D. Millionshchikov Grozny State Petroleum Technological University.

The event was attended by Vice-Rector Maria Karelina, Head of the Modern Educational Laboratory for the Aircraft, Shipbuilding, and Innovative Transport Industries (part of the automated development of control programs and the study of the basics of working with a CNC system for machine tools of various technological groups), Dmitry Nikitin, and researchers from the CNC Laboratory, Roman Prodan, Oleg Telnov, and Maxim Pletnev.

The main goal of the meeting was to expand educational cooperation between universities in the field of continuing professional education and the work of the modern educational Laboratory of the Scientific and Practical Univ.

The key focus of the discussion was the training of specialists in industrial automation and CNC systems for the aircraft, shipbuilding, and innovative transport industries. Particular attention was paid to the development of new continuing professional education programs for engineering and teaching staff.

Following a fruitful discussion, the parties reached important agreements on conducting intensive educational courses and lectures for GGNTU students on modern automation systems. The launch of these joint educational programs is scheduled for October 2025.

The meeting marked a significant step in the implementation of the federal project "Development of the most important science-intensive technologies and advanced training and retraining of qualified personnel in the field of transport mobility" of the national project "Industrial support of transport mobility."

The Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and the Foundation for Social and Cultural Initiatives announce the launch of the All-Russian public-state initiative with international participation, "Hot Heart."

The main goal of the Initiative is to express gratitude to children and young people under 23 years of age who have demonstrated compassion and an active life position, selflessly coming to the aid of others or overcoming difficult life situations.

The Initiative's Organizing Committee is accepting nominations for the "Warm Heart" badge and symbol. Nominations can be submitted online on the Initiative's official website. The deadline for submission is December 1, 2025.

The organizers are preparing an annual honorary book, "Ardent Heart," which will feature the stories of all the laureates. In March 2026, an electronic version of the honorary book will be published on the Foundation's official website.

The awards ceremony and honoring the laureates is planned for April 2026 in Moscow.

On September 19, the State University of Management conducted the first wave of seasonal influenza vaccinations for students and staff.

A dedicated team of doctors was stationed at the GUU dormitory so that those wishing to undergo the procedure could do so in a familiar and comfortable environment.

Yulia Larina, Chief State Sanitary Doctor for the South-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow, and her deputy, Olga Shevelkina, visited our university to assess the organization of the event and the preventive measures against seasonal infections. Along with Dmitry Bryukhanov, Acting Rector of the State University of Management, and Vitaly Lapshenkov, Vice Rector of the State University of Management, the guests visited the vaccination room, where they observed the procedure. Representatives of the rector's office were the first to receive the vaccine, demonstrating by example that vaccination is nothing to be afraid of.

"Traditionally, the fall period is associated with a surge in illnesses. Our students come from different regions, and everyone is placed in a new group. Some get sick more often than others, but all of this impacts their academic performance. We care about the health of our students and offer them voluntary and free vaccinations. They don't have to travel anywhere; they can simply come down to the first floor of the dormitory," said Dmitry Bryukhanov.

Next, representatives from Rospotrebnadzor and the rector's office of the State University of Management walked around the university grounds and watched informational videos about the benefits of getting a timely flu shot, which are shown on digital screens in all academic buildings of the first administrative building.

"We come to the State University of Management every year to administer vaccinations before the seasonal surge in flu and acute respiratory viral infections. Students actively get vaccinated to successfully pass their exams and attend classes. It's important to note that the incidence rate directly depends on the number of people vaccinated. If more than 75% of a group, department, or any association is vaccinated, herd immunity is achieved, and we see fewer cases," Yulia Larina recalled.
