BEIJING, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) — China's total installed power capacity increased 17.5 percent year-on-year to 3.72 billion kWh as of the end of September 2025, according to data released Sunday by the National Energy Administration.

In particular, during the reporting period, the total installed capacity of Chinese solar power plants increased by 45.7 percent to 1.13 billion kW, while the same figure for wind power plants (WPPs) increased by 21.3 percent to approximately 582 million kW.

According to statistics, in the first nine months of this year, the country's major energy companies invested approximately 598.7 billion yuan (approximately $84.4 billion) in power supply projects, up 0.6 percent year-on-year. Investment in power grid projects increased by 9.9 percent year-on-year, reaching 437.8 billion yuan.
