UN, October 25 /Xinhua/ — The China Initiative on Global Governance provides important guidance for the future development of the UN. This was stated on Friday by China's Permanent Representative to the UN, Fu Cong, at the Security Council open debate on the future of the UN, marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the global organization.
The Global Governance Initiative is consistent with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, aims to strengthen solidarity and coordination within the international community, and enables a more effective response to the challenges of the time, he said.
The diplomat noted that over the past 80 years, the UN has become the most universal, representative, and authoritative intergovernmental organization, making an invaluable contribution to peace and development throughout the world.

At this crucial moment, Chinese President Xi Jinping solemnly launched the Global Governance Initiative, presenting a Chinese solution to the growing global governance deficit and promoting the creation of a more equitable system, he said.
