Rio de Janeiro, October 25 (Xinhua) — Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said on Friday that the country is working to become a full member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), his administration announced.

Speaking in Jakarta during an official visit to Indonesia, L.I. Lula da Silva expressed hope for stronger ties with ASEAN.
