Minsk, October 25 (Xinhua) — The 17th meeting of the Belarusian-Myanmar Commission on Military-Technical Cooperation was held in Minsk on Friday. The State Military-Industrial Committee of Belarus released information on the same day.

The parties discussed a range of measures to further expand cooperation in the modernization and production of military and special-purpose equipment. A separate topic of discussion was the training of Myanmar military specialists in Belarus for the benefit of the Myanmar armed forces and military-industrial complex.

Following the talks, the commission's co-chairs—Oleg Mishchenko, First Deputy Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus, and Ue Htut, Managing Director of the Procurement Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Myanmar—signed the final protocol of the meeting, formalizing the agreements reached.

The State Military Industrial Committee of Belarus noted that the event will open up new prospects for bilateral relations and elevate Belarusian-Myanmar military-technical cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
