Dushanbe, October 24 /Xinhua/ — The 2nd International Competition of Chinese Language Teachers from Central Asian Countries, "Heroes of Chinese Language Teaching-2025," is being held in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, on October 24 and 25.
The competition is organized by the Center for International Language Cooperation of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at the Tajik National University (TNU). The theme of the competition is "Combining Pedagogical Excellence—Guiding with Wisdom."
Speaking at the competition's opening ceremony, TNU Vice-Rector Faridun Rajabzoda noted: "The Chinese language, as one of the official languages of the UN, embodies the millennial wisdom and brilliant culture of Chinese civilization. As friendly relations between Tajikistan and China, as well as between China and other Central Asian countries, deepen, the role of the Chinese language in strengthening mutual understanding between peoples and developing practical cooperation is becoming increasingly important."
In his ceremonial speech, Chinese Ambassador to Tajikistan Guo Zhijun said: “In the more than 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and the countries of Central Asia have found a new path of good-neighborliness, mutual benefit, and joint development, becoming an example of a new type of international relations.”
Eleven teachers from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan are participating in the "Chinese Language Teaching Heroes 2025" competition and its events. The event will also include a roundtable discussion on best practices, featuring presentations and discussions.
