Cairo, October 24 (Xinhua) — Delegations from Hamas and Fatah are holding talks in Cairo to discuss the post-war settlement in the Gaza Strip, Egyptian television channel Al-Qahira al-Ikhbariya reported on Thursday.
According to him, the Hamas delegation is headed by the movement's leader in Gaza and chief negotiator, Khalil al-Hayya, and the Fatah delegation is led by Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh and the head of the Palestinian General Intelligence Service, Majid Faraj.
Furthermore, Palestinian groups are discussing the second phase of US President Donald Trump's peace plan for the Gaza Strip in Cairo. According to the channel, Egypt is preparing to host a conference on Gaza's reconstruction in the second half of November.
At the same time, the director of Egypt's General Intelligence Directorate, Hassan Rashad, met in Cairo with the Secretary General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Fahd Suleiman, as part of efforts to achieve a Palestinian national consensus on the implementation of Trump's plan.
