BEIJING, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) — Beijing has entered a key phase of preparations for the winter heating season, with city authorities taking appropriate measures in advance and strengthening coordination with meteorological services to monitor weather changes to ensure targeted and reliable heating supply for residents, the Beijing Municipal Economy Management Commission said on Wednesday.
Preparatory work has now reached its final stage, with a focus on key areas such as equipment operation and maintenance, fuel supplies, and staff training, the committee said, adding that the capital's heating companies have completed inspections and adjustments of boiler houses and heat exchange stations to ensure their operational readiness.
Every effort will be made to ensure residents are warm and comfortable this winter, the committee assured.
The heating season in Beijing is scheduled to run from November 15 this year to March 15 next year, but it may be adjusted depending on actual weather conditions. -0-
