Tashkent, October 21 (Xinhua) – Uzbekistan intends to strengthen the development of information technology as part of the construction of an IT park project. This was announced on Tuesday by the presidential press service.

"On October 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the IT Park in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of the capital and participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the second phase of the project," the statement read.

“Two years ago, as part of the first phase, implemented through an investment of $200 million, six office buildings, 20-25 stories high, and a modern congress hall were erected on an area of approximately 4 hectares,” the statement said.

The IT park reportedly offers all the necessary conditions for specialists and support for promising startups. Incubation and acceleration programs are in place, and projects in information technology, fintech, logistics, e-commerce, online education, biotechnology, and other fields are being successfully implemented.
