Gaza/Jerusalem, October 19 (Xinhua) — Israel's continued closure of the Rafah crossing between Egypt and the Gaza Strip will "delay reconstruction work and the transfer of the bodies of Israeli hostages," Hamas said in a statement.

It is noted that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to close the crossing until further notice "constitutes a gross violation of the ceasefire agreement and a renunciation of the commitments he made to the mediators and guarantor parties."

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported early Saturday morning that it had received from Hamas the body of a 10th dead Israeli hostage held in Gaza, in addition to the remaining 20 living hostages. On Saturday evening, the IDF reported receiving the bodies of two more dead Israeli hostages.

The ceasefire agreement, brokered by Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and the United States, came into effect on October 10. The first phase of the agreement includes the exchange of prisoners and hostages, the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces.
