Islamabad, October 18 (Xinhua) — A senior Pakistani delegation will hold talks with Afghan representatives in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to resolve ongoing issues between the two sides, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced on Saturday.
The ministry stated that the Pakistani delegation, led by the country's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, will seek measures aimed at ending cross-border terrorism and restoring stability on the Pakistan-Afghan border.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry also expressed appreciation for Qatar's mediation efforts and noted that Islamabad hopes that the talks will contribute to broader peace and security in the region.
Tensions on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan have increased recently due to cross-border shootings and militant activity.
