BEIJING, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday congratulated Patrick Herminie on his election as President of the Seychelles.
Noting that China and the Seychelles enjoy a traditional friendship, Xi said the two sides support each other on issues affecting their core interests and major concerns, and cooperation in areas such as infrastructure and green development has borne fruit.
Xi Jinping noted that next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations, adding that he attaches great importance to the development of ties between China and the Seychelles.
He said he was willing to work with P. Herminie to use the implementation of the results of the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as an opportunity to continuously elevate the strategic partnership between the two countries to a higher level for the benefit of their peoples. –0–
