Beijing, October 14 (Xinhua) — China will continue to deeply implement its innovation-driven development strategy, integrate more openly into the global market, and share the fruits of its scientific and technological development with the world, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian announced on Tuesday.

Lin Jian made the announcement at a regular press briefing in response to recent comments from International Federation of Robotics (IFR) President Takayuki Ito, who recently stated in an interview that China's robotics industry is growing at an unprecedented pace, becoming an important driver of automation in the global manufacturing industry.

The Chinese diplomat noted that, according to the World Robotics 2025 report published by the IFR, the number of industrial robots in operation in China will exceed 2 million units in 2024, placing China first in the world in this indicator.

“At the same time, we see that Chinese robots are demonstrating potential for widespread application in areas such as automotive manufacturing, electronics, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, consumer services, medicine, and education, gradually moving from laboratories to factory production lines and into people’s homes around the world,” Lin Jian emphasized.

The mass production of robots in China and the diversity of their application scenarios are driven by strong innovative momentum and a constantly improving industrial development environment, Lin Jian continued, noting that such progress not only accelerates the growth of domestic enterprises but also stimulates the coordinated development of international supply chains and related industries.

According to him, China currently has over 500,000 high-tech enterprises, and the number of "lighthouse factories" representing the cutting-edge of intelligent manufacturing and digitalization exceeds 40 percent of the global total. China also ranks first in the world in this indicator.

“This creates an inexhaustible new impetus for the Chinese economy and brings wisdom and strength to global scientific and technological progress,” added the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. –0–
