City services specialists will install architectural and artistic lighting on 11 buildings in the city center, according to the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing, Utilities, and Urban Development. Petr Biryukov.
"We've developed a special lighting design for 11 buildings located on Arbat Street. The main goal is to integrate these buildings into Moscow's unified lighting and color scheme. Power engineers from JSC UEK will install a total of over 700 energy-efficient lamps," noted Pyotr Biryukov.
Buildings in various architectural styles, from neoclassical to modern, will be equipped with lighting. For example, the M.A. Skvortsov Apartment Building will receive it: lights will be placed along the cornice above the third floor and in the spaces between the second- and third-floor windows to highlight various decorative elements.
The Orlovs' apartment building will also be transformed, with lighting installed in the spaces between the windows between the first, second, and third floors. A.I. Urusov's apartment building will also be illuminated.
In accordance with the adopted concept, all new lighting in the capital is warm or neutral white and moderately bright. This allows for the careful accentuation of building details and elements, creating a unified light space.
Over the past 13 years, Moscow's lighting levels have doubled, and the number of buildings with architectural and artistic lighting has quadrupled. In total, over a million lighting fixtures have been installed in the capital, with energy consumption reduced thanks to the use of energy-efficient LEDs.
