New York, October 11 (Xinhua) — At least four people were killed and 12 wounded Saturday morning in a shooting in Leland, Mississippi, media reported.
Leland Mayor John Lee told CBS that the shooting occurred around midnight and that four of the victims were airlifted to local hospitals. There is no immediate information on their condition.
The mayor said the shooting occurred on the city's main street, where people had come to watch Leland High School's home game against Charleston High School.
Leland is a small city in Washington County with a population of about 4,000, CBS noted, citing 2020 census data.
