Pyongyang, October 11 (Xinhua) — China is ready to work with the DPRK to unlock the potential for practical cooperation and give further impetus to the development and construction of the two countries. This was stated on Saturday by Li Qiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, at a meeting with Pak Thae-song, DPRK Premier and member of the Presidium of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

He noted that China will continue to firmly support the WPK in leading the DPRK people along a development path that suits their national conditions.

Li Qiang stressed that China is willing to cooperate with the DPRK in implementing the consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries, strengthening high-level exchanges, strengthening strategic ties, continuously enhancing political mutual trust, and ensuring further progress in traditional friendship and cooperation.

Noting that both China and the DPRK are currently making every effort to advance the cause of socialist construction, the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China expressed his willingness to work with the DPRK to unlock the potential for practical cooperation and give further impetus to the development and construction of the two countries.

The peoples of China and the DPRK enjoy a profound and special friendship, he said, calling on the two sides to strengthen exchanges and mutual visits at all levels in areas such as youth, culture, education, art and sports, and continuously deepen the friendly feelings between the peoples.

Li Qiang noted that against the backdrop of profound changes in the international situation, the two sides must strengthen unity and cooperation to protect the legitimate rights and interests of China and the DPRK, as well as international justice.

Pak Thae Song, in turn, stated that the WPK, the government, and the people of the DPRK have sincere and friendly feelings toward China. He emphasized that the WPK and the DPRK government are unwavering in their commitment to strengthening and developing the inseparable relations between North Korea and China.

The DPRK is willing to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two parties and countries, strengthen governance exchanges, expand friendly exchanges, deepen cooperation in various fields, closely cooperate in realizing the cause of socialism, and constantly renew the friendly and cooperative relations between the DPRK and China, Pak Thae Song noted.

Pyongyang firmly supports Beijing in protecting its core interests and is ready to jointly commemorate the 75th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into North Korean territory to participate in the War of Resistance against American Aggression and provide aid to the Korean people, he said, calling on the DPRK and China to closely cooperate within the framework of multilateral cooperation and safeguard common interests.
