The city's "Day Without Turnstiles" project concluded its autumn season in Moscow. Around 2,800 people took part in free tours of Moscow businesses, research centers, and technology companies.

Try yourself in the profession

Moscow is building a sustainable ecosystem linking education, business, and careers. The "Day Without Turnstiles" project is a practical tool that enables the city to engage aspiring professionals in the technology sector. Young people can see how modern companies operate, interact with executives and engineers, and even try their hand at the profession.

"In September, more than 140 companies opened their doors to Muscovites, including over 30 for the first time. We conducted over 240 tours, attended by approximately 2,800 visitors. 'Turnstile-Free Day' introduces city residents to modern businesses and helps young people take their first steps in their careers," she noted.

Kristina Kostroma, Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of Moscow.

The team at Russian technology company Selectel provided guests with a full immersion into the workings of a major IT infrastructure provider. During a tour of the data center, employees demonstrated how the engineering systems operate and how service continuity is ensured. A company presentation, an interactive fact-finding game, and an informal introduction to the team were held in the office.

Tours of enterprises

For the first time, the tours were led by young entrepreneurs, participants in the Moscow Mayor's "Moscow Innovator" competition.

Klimbiotech showed guests its scientific space—a selection and technology complex—and demonstrated the operation of climate-controlled laboratory chambers. Participants asked specific questions about the chambers and speedbreeding technology. They were interested in how to move from an idea to its implementation, what challenges the team faced at the start, what support tools helped them develop, and how the team found its niche at the intersection of biology, IT, and engineering.

NFCKEY specialists shared the company's history, then the participants toured the production facility and learned about NFC technology, which allows for the exchange of data between devices over very short distances. Finally, the guests took a test drive: they downloaded the app, accessed the office lock, and tried opening it with a tap of their phone.

In addition, residents of the capital viewed test systems for medicine and agriculture, learned about metalworking technologies, learned about innovative developments in the automotive sector, and visited a gas transportation company, development companies, and technology parks.

Receive an internship invitation

The excursions included professional auditions, meetings with executives, master classes, case studies, and presentations of company career opportunities. Interested participants were able to showcase their skills, demonstrate their motivation, receive an internship offer, and discuss job prospects.

An engineering and technology company producing auto parts, components, and machine tools became the leader in recruiting young specialists. Additionally, a leading foam manufacturing facility and several furniture brands offered internships. Aspiring technologists and engineers had the opportunity to work with modern equipment and immediately immerse themselves in real-world production challenges.

The company actively recruited young talent from the design, architecture, and engineering fields. New team members joined the architectural firm and full-service engineering company.

The clothing industry rounds out the top three in terms of student placements. Moscow's manufacturing plants once again confirmed the high demand for young and passionate professionals.
