Dushanbe, October 9 (Xinhua) — "Russia is one of Tajikistan's main political and economic partners," Tajik leader Emomali Rahmon said Thursday during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Dushanbe. This was confirmed by a statement published on the website of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
E. Rahmon continued by emphasizing that Tajikistan closely cooperates with Russia in the trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the security sphere.
According to the website, the high-level talks between Tajikistan and Russia covered a wide range of issues—from energy, various industrial sectors, investment, transport, agriculture, and the digital economy to science, education, security, and defense.
Opportunities for expanding investment cooperation in areas such as mining and manufacturing, particularly in the processing of agricultural products, light and food industries, and the production of building materials, were also discussed.
