Almaty, October 7 (Xinhua) — A series of high-level international events, including a visit by Russian President Vladimir Putin, will take place in Dushanbe from October 8 to 10, the press service of the Tajik Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday.

According to the department's statement, Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Tajikistan. The visit will include a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to Ismail Somoni, negotiations, and the signing of interstate and intergovernmental documents.

It is also reported that on October 9, the presidents of Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Russia will hold the 2nd Central Asia-Russia Summit.

The press service added that a Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit will be held on October 10 under the chairmanship of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. CIS heads of state will discuss current international issues, including regional and global security.
