Sydney, October 7 (Xinhua) — Australia must do everything possible to ensure that Israel and Palestine can coexist in peace and security, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called for in a media statement on Tuesday.
The Prime Minister noted that Australia is consistently involved in international efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the return of hostages, ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian enclave and realizing the principle of “two states for two peoples”.
"We must do everything in our power to ensure a just and lasting peace in the Middle East. The State of Israel and the State of Palestine must exist side by side, within internationally recognized borders, in peace and security," emphasized A. Albanese.
