Rosneft held a sports tourism competition on the shores of Lake Baikal. The event brought together 108 oil workers from 18 teams representing the Company's subsidiaries across Russia.
The competition took place at the Utulik recreation center, a social facility of the Angarsk Petrochemical Company (part of Rosneft's oil refining and petrochemical complex). The oil workers competed in three disciplines: cross-country orienteering, a walking course, and a control-tourist route.
Athletes completed an obstacle course with tasks at each stage of a professional tourist route along the forested shores of Lake Baikal. Participants demonstrated their skills in rafting, negotiating a suspended bridge, over hummocks and a swinging log, and ascending and descending a slope. Successful completion of the route also required skills in navigation, rope tying, and first aid.
Professional judges assessed the accuracy of all stages of the competition and recorded the teams' best times. The Udmurtneft team won the competition, with the team from the Company's research institute in Tomsk taking second place, and the RN-Vankor team taking third.
The competition promotes a healthy lifestyle, strengthens team spirit, and promotes sports tourism. The Angarsk Petrochemical Company ensured a high level of organization for the event, and the athletes were provided with the necessary equipment. As part of the cultural program, the oil workers visited the sights of Baikalsk and took a tour of the world's deepest freshwater lake, Lake Baikal. The evening program included a must-see attraction: guitar singing.
Developing sports is one of Rosneft's key priorities. The corporate "Energy of Life" program unites over 128,000 Company employees. Over 92,000 oil workers participate in various sports at company-wide competitions and contests, as well as at the regional and federal level.
The company conducts extensive information and organizational campaigns to develop a mass sports movement among employees and encourage them to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Sports training is organized for employees. The number of oil workers actively involved in sports is growing year after year.
