BEIJING, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) — The Chinese-Russian art exhibition "The People Will Victory," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the victory in the Great Patriotic War of the USSR, and the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War, is being held in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin Province, the People's Daily reported.
The exhibition reportedly features a total of 165 works of art across various genres, including Chinese national painting, oil painting, engraving, sculpture, and others, which artistically demonstrate the full weight of the war years.
Among them, the China Museum of Fine Arts loaned 87 national-class masterpieces, including "War Horse" by the renowned Chinese artist Xu Beihong and "Ten Thousand Generations of Peace" by the renowned master of Chinese traditional painting, Qi Baishi. The Ilya Repin Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg loaned 39 works created by renowned artists during their artistic trips to Jilin Province, including works by Alexander Grishin. The Fan Di'an Art Gallery in Pucheng County, Fujian Province (southeast China), loaned 34 Russian paintings on the theme of the Anti-Japanese War. All of these significant works were presented to the public for the first time in Jilin Province.
Wang Jianguo, Chairman of the Jilin Provincial Artists Association, stated that this exhibition combines international scope, historical richness, and artistic depth. It will provide an unforgettable visual feast for the majority of viewers and art lovers.
The exhibition was jointly organized by the China Museum of Fine Arts, the Propaganda Department of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee, the Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Jilin Provincial Government, and the Jilin Federation of Literary and Artistic Workers.
